Remember when Konami made actual video games and not quality of life assistant tools for high schoolers looking for chicks?

Even Metal Gear is getting shafted nowadays.
Retro Konami topic by the way.

Im not OP, but you should know that back in the 90's, when Konami released Tokimemo, it took the japanese gaming world by surprise, no one expected Konami to release one of those games.

Those classic Konami-styled minigames in Tokimeki were pretty cool. Is there anything like that in Love Plus?

Tokimeki had a Twinbee kind of minigame and silly stuff like getting attacked by bears on dates and you'd have to fight them off Final Fantasy style. It was pretty amusing.

Tokimeki Memorial was a more stander dating sim, when Love Plus is a QOL tool made for high schoolers looking for chicks.

We need TwinBee & Parodius back as even DDR is getting shafted.

Searching ギャルゲ コナミ is educational.

This game is basically Tokimeki in a fantasy setting with character designs from the guy who did Sakura Taisen.

Circus Charlie was one of my favorite games when I was a little toddler and got my Famiclone. It also provided my earliest vidya outrages along with Ice Climbers.

Anyway... Konami, great quality games all throughout the 80s and 90s. It's a real shame that they're just a dead corporate corpse now.

Since Nintendo is now collaborating with a lot of 3rd parties, it'd be cool if they manage to get Goemon from Konami, after all, the original Goemon team works for Nintendo now, and Konami is only making pachislots and re-releasing old games on mobile now.
I'd give my left nut for a new Goemon game.

Also damn, the Goemon thread from yesterday already 404s, what a shame.

I hope this changes as time goes on, though I'm not optimistic. It'd be great to see more English-language guides to PC88 games, if not actual translation patches. Definitely feels like the "final frontier" of /vr/, especially considering the thousands of doujin games that are probably lost to time and will never be seen by western eyes..

Like Konami & Good Feel, a good amount of Ex-Hudson staff works for Nintendo's ND Cube.

Also, at least there are still Wii U/3DS VC releases in Japan, so it's not all lost.
