I really need to play this again. I got burnt out on BoF after playing 1.

i tried playing bof2 a few years ago and both my games crashed. the snes version froze somewhere i cant remember, and then the gba version crashes every time the monkey guy's tower collapses. i think the exact same thing happened when i tried playing it like 10 years ago too.

Ryu and Katt as the heavy hitters, with Bleu providing spell/kickass support and Bow providing healing and some well aimed bolts now and then.

The other characters suck Birubiru's ass: Jean is too weak and slow, Sten tried to do too much and aces at nothing, Spar is a weak ass shit, Rand's physical/speed/magic/defense plain suck and Nina can't do anything that Bleu doesn't do 10X better.

It's better to bring Rand or Sten in place of Bow once you get the spirits because you can't have a powered up Katt and a powered up Bow on the same team, since they both need the Devil spirit. Fire/Wind Sten and Water/Earth Rand outdamage normal Bow. Jean still sucks though.

This has been my main team on my latest play-troughs and has worked well. Ryu and Katt are there to take down bosses and the multi-target attack spells from Bleu and Nina easily murder the random enemy groups you constantly come across.

I've been looking for a good 16-bit RPG to play, and I've exhausted a decent amount of Square's library. Currently trying to play Soul Blazer and while it is good, it is a bit bland.

Holy shit, i made a huge mistake. I should've equiped sunmask when on full hp since it has more def than silverht by FUCKING 3 POINTS and since even without thunder resists he cannot 64 me from full BUT i can up my hp to resist his kinda frequent attack of 111. I literally lucked out. I should minimize the risks as much as possible. Still, i have beaten this faggot like 10 times playing retarded and even without def-up - Katt is a literal Goddess, everyone else is a trash.

BoF1 has references in the second, but they aren't that big. It can be ruled as unnecessary as every game has a self-contained story and the second takes place very very very long after the first.

In retrospect, it isn't as fun as BoF2 and it hasn't exactly aged well but you'll still have fun. It is however quite a grind until you get your dragon powers.

If playing BoF1 alongside the later games, I would suggest using the GBA version with a text patch (it also restores the japanese GBA addition of names for nameless soldiers). If only a palette edit of the GBA version existed though.

Dude, Katt always attacks first, has even bigger offense power than Ryu, is the only character besides Ruy with the ability to counterattack and most of the game's funny moments are at expenses of her and her reduced intelligence/hair trigger temper.

Katt's ability to solo the game proves she is better than everyone else and thus you don't need other inferior characters except for forced solo segments and some forced overworld usage. She is the best attacker, the fastest, does every other character's job GOOD enough to progress without relying on anyone. She farms money in the beginning of the game faster than anyone since she is the best hunter and hunting is much more profitable than fishing. She is also the best mage in her bonded form and moreso.

I got BoF2 knowledge and the whole run experience which i secured with my epic webms. All of these make my opinion above everyone's else here.
