For a PSone/N64 game, it still looks incredible in my opinion. The whole game just breathes atmosphere, and was one of the few games that showed me that a full 3D game could be just as good as a 2D game.

Never mind that it was pretty fun, and could still manage to be pretty challenging. For being a licensed movie game, it was one of the best.

Concentrated comfiness.

There's something about that game that puts me into this serene, childlike state of wonderment and wanderlust. It's just a quaint Japanese suburb, and actually living there would probably be boring as shit, but through some unholy magic, Shenmue makes exploring everything SO MUCH FUN. I can't think of any other vidya that had this effect on me.
