Correct.
I just went through a google search and the warehouses are huge, they stock BOTH the used games to sell and the used games to keep, the games are sorted by date and console but I also read some stuff about Gamestop destroying all old psx games, so who knows about Saturn?

I exclude warehouse workers stealing them because I worked at a warehouse and the LAST thing i'd do is snatch something, the security is always perfect and losing your job over something so trivial is stupid.
However I also don't think Gamestop wanted to keep Saturn games for posterity since they're still a profit-based business, and those old games are "stealing" space for the new used games.

Yup, multiple parallels, too. The platform isn't going to set the world alight, but you'll miss the jump control and that solid "thud" when you land in future games.

It's also the first "rpg" i've ever played to feature toilets. I suppose the good folk of Granseal back in SF2 shat in the woods.

>the wonky platforming (diagonal platforms in a game with only four-cardinal-direction movement) has led to many a frustrating death
The Saturn controller has diagonals. There's nothing awkward about pressing diagonally on the D-pad to move diagonally on the screen. I don't understand your problem. It's a great game, though if there's anything wonky about it, it's the battle system.

I have finished all parralells though, it's quite a trip that final one. You essentially have to run through the game backwards within a time limit. Of course to have gotten that far at all you must already be pretty decent at playing the game, so it's a fair challenge.

Bug 1-2 are... very long and possibly annoying by the end. I'm sure I made it up to the last level of Bug 1 but I lost interest at that point. Then again, I had the same problem with Clockwork Knight too.

Astal is very pretty but other than that its an average game.

SOTN looks like dogshit on the Saturn in all honesty.

Sonic Jam is only worth a damn if you don't have the Megadrive games, since it has average ports of those (some awesome effects like the music speeding up are entirely destroyed).

Burning Rangers has bad controls and camera movement. If it didn't have Sonic Team written on it, it would be entirely forgettable.

I watched this video, and I saw the light. I'm sorry Segata-san. I'm sorry I wasted my life on sex and meaningless pursuits and completely looked over the arcade brilliance that was 90s Sega. You died for us while showing us the true value of a meaningful hardcore life while you lived. Sanshiro died with the 90s, but we can all learn from his example. I'm putting up a portrait of him next to my gaming setup and purging everything that isn't Sega.

You know what is good and pure. Do the right thing.

I would emulate the games if SSF liked me. But it straight doens't work on my PC. I remember the games would only play the intro movie and go back to the saturn menu.
And the games look like ass on Yabause.

well I picked up the cross already on this level this thing destroys projectiles that is too sweet. Will I win the game the first time around if I have the cross with me? Holy shit this thing fucking wrecks red arremers too the wimpy range kind of sucks but its still pretty beast.

You ultimately need the cross to beat the game, so you might as well get used to it.

Holy fuck why are Saturn games so expensive. How much cheaper were they five years ago?

>> No.1618210

>>1618201
Not that much less so. They've been expensive since around 2001 or 2002 or so, whenever Funcoland/Gamestop/EB stopped carrying them. Granted, games like Panzer Dragoon Saga and Burning Rangers have just been getting more and more expensive, but they were never "cheap", that's for sure. Radiant Silvergun's been steadily at the same price for as long as I can remember. In fact, I think that one's a lot cheaper than I remember it being.

Segata Sanshiro is the only time in Sega Japan's history that "marketing" was actually understood as a concept at Sega.

What makes it 'non-canon'? The Battle Mode?

I would like to try out the port myself, but as much as I love the Saturn, I just think the Director's Cut is enough for me. Especially for RE's current hardo-gay prices. I recall it being something like $30.00 max a few years ago.

Thankfully, it was released digitally and lowered the demand. I wish SEGA released a digitial version of Burning Rangers and PDS but that'll never happen because they lost the source code.

I wish they just jerry-rigged some emulator to play the Panzer Dragoon Saga and Burning Ranger ISOs/ROMs/whatever, and filtered them a bit (or touched up some of the wonky 3D).

Quick, dirty, probably not satisfying, but good enough, dammit.

>>1620023
Great game. I sold it though because I felt that the XBLA version made the Saturn version a little redundant (even if I aesthetically liked the Saturn version more).

Ebay, most Japanese games trend $50+ cheaper than their NTSC counterparts, especially JRPGs like Panzer Dragoon Saga which is like $20. Its the Japanese exclusives that are more expensive ones like Radiant Silver Gun or D&D.

The virtual-on arcade machine had twinsticks, and is a major part of experience. Playing on a d-pad loses a lot of that - get the twinsticks. Its like "Densha De Go!", "Samba de Amigo" or "Sega Bass Fishing" - without the special controller, it just ain't the same.
