I like to make squid balls. :-)
Chop up some squid, shove into a blender with egg whites, cornstarch and a bit of salt then blitz until smooth and stir in some chopped coriander leaves and scallion greens.
Fill a piping bag with the squid paste and squeeze into sausage casings, twisting off several balls creating a long string of squid balls that resembled anal beads. Then poach until set, allow to cool and remove from the casing.
Squid is so cheap that it's a fairly common protein for me. $1,49/lb? Yes please!

DK64 has the same eerie feeling as SM64 but amplified a million times. There were a lot of dim areas where the lighting bounced all around and screwed with your head and enemies seemed to come out from nowhere, with giant clubs and loud-ass grenades. The underwater areas were really bad too, all murky with that eerily distant music and loud swimming noises, and it doesn't help that I was just coming off SM64 into them when I played.

Nothing personal, but this is Sunday morning & I really did not like the idea of getting eaten by the monster this early. that I am really trying to say is fix the program or stop making games for the likes of me, who can't win. Actually, you ruined my day. Have a nice one,

I know the feel anon. There were plenty of parts of SM64 that made me uncomfortable. The underground level with the hazy maze stands out, as does the spooky piano.

Also, pic related creeped me the fuck out on the NES.

All this talk about Jolly Roger Bay and the eel. Jolly Roger Bay is THE first level I think of when somebody mentions Mario64. I love it so much. The music is beautiful (I get too nostalgic hearing it) and there's so many memorable things about that level. Never minded the eel either.

Only thing that ever scared me in a non-horror vidya was huge Baby Bowser in Yoshi's Island. I actually didn't touch the game for quite a few months after getting trampled by that giant for the first time. Music was creepy too; not at all what you'd expect in that game.

Heh, from the thumbnail it looks like Sarge's Heroes. Speaking of, these things. Some of the scenes in these games are so fucked up, soldiers getting tied up and melted under magnifying glasses, and getting fed through a machine that turns them into spiders. It's literally a kid friendly version of the Nazi atrocities.

The Star you got for freeing Chain Chomp helped me get over him a lot.

I made up this story in my head that he was just grumpy because King Bob-Omb chained him up, and he didn't understand I was setting him free because people had always been mean to him.

All the bad guys in Final Fantasy: Mystic Quest scared me. Although, I'd like to see a more detailed updated version of this with better graphics as depicted by the old pictures, this game would be amazing. I loved the battle music.
