Yeah, it was bundled with the SNES, it sold pretty well even prior to being bundled with the SNES and it was a rareware game released at a point considered their heyday.

What I'm saying is, Nintendo Tax aside, it's a pretty common game and having 37 copies of it is neither here nor there.

You would still get a decent amount of money for it, though, because of stuff like this.

Are you?

You got an autograph on the cheap plastic wrap someone would rather rip off so they can seal it in something that will actually protect the box, which is all anyone cares about.

Now all you have is a copy of Quake and some plastic wrap with Romero's signature on it. You could have got him to sign the goddamn box and then put it in a case.

It being "sealed" doesn't increase it's value at all. It's just some plastic that looks shitty and inevitably turns yellow so it looks even shittier.

How are you incapable of understanding why a signature on the actual box would be worth more (read: something at all) to a buyer? The box and it's contents are what actually matter.

Your item is worth as much as a good condition copy of Quake is worth, to answer your original question. You might be able to sell Romero's signature too if you can find somebody needs to keep a sandwich fresh.

There are hundreds of thousands of opened copies of Quake out there.

But there are just a few with the original factory seal.

>> No.1610006

The factory seal is actually underneath that plastic, sealing the box at both ends.

>Collectors pay for rarity.

Your game would still be factory sealed if you got rid of the plastic it was wrapped in for the sake of keeping it dry during distribution.

>Who cares where the signature

Collectors do. You don't actually have a signature on your game. You have it on the part they'd like to be able to throw in the trash before they put it on display.
