I have been trying to think of a good game to replay lately. Then I realized it's been a full 10 years since the last time I played FFIX. Should I do it, /v/?

Pic tangentially related.

Actually, I've decided that I'll probably replay OoT instead. It's been even longer since I last replayed that, and I was listening to the OST the other day and the nostalgia was overwhelming. I literally remembered parts of my past that I didn't even know I'd forgotten until then.

Anywho, may I ask what would be some good things I could do for challenges? I'm not 12 anymore, I'm fucking 28 and I think the game should be hard. I'm not interested in doing a 100% run, that's too timesink-y-ish for my tastes at this point. I want something that's challenging but doesn't rule out enjoying entire aspects of the game.

I'm thinking about a 3 heart challenge so far. I actually tried that once long ago and found it pretty hard and gave up. Only problem is I feel like I might have to avoid certain aspects of the game like finding random treasures or completing sidequests which result in heart pieces - how can I mitigate this for my replay?

Any other ideas for things to do to make a OoT replay more interesting?

Also should I play it legit on my N64 + CRT or try and emulate it on my 1920 x 1080 flatscreen + semi-busted usb controller that the left analog stick is slightly unresponsive in one direction?

Wait, now that I think about it, I might have purchased an adapter some time ago that lets me convert my N64 controller into a USB device for PC. Maybe I should use that instead. I will have to look into this.

In the meantime, any thoughts advice suggestions etc appreciated, vr.

These threads are fucking retarded. Play the game you want to play OP; don't ask us if we give a shit one way or another. If it's just a flimsy pretext for a FFIX thread, well, then make a goddamned FFIX thread.

On that note, FFVIII is far more enjoyable today than FFIX.

OoT really wasnt that good, I'm not sure why people fall all over themselves about it. everything was generic. the characters were uninteresting, the dungeons were unimpressive, the polygons have aged like milk, and the whole game was tedious. had it been labeled as a kid chameleon game rather than a zelda game then it would have been remembered as only an average n64 title.

Yeah, because who gives a fuck about Kid Chameleon? I want to run around the forest as muh link not some crappy other thing. You sound like there's something wrong with the fact you pointed out, but really it makes complete sense.

not the other guy, but Kid Chameleon is amazing. In a world of boring platformers, it stands out to me.
