My favorite character is Citan. I mean, he's a good father and husband, which explains why he's usually careful. Keeps calm in every situation and is very knowledgeable. Sure, he may be sneaky at times, but does it really matter ?
He's the kind of mature character that usually lack in JRPGs. Would invite to dinner with is lovely family/10

Favorite Element is Domina. I like badass chicks, even though I had a soft spot for the Tolone/Seraphita duo.

Seriously. Next to Fei and Citan w/ sword, she's the strongest in non-gear physical combat and she's also got stupid OP magicks that put Elly to shame. I recall stacking ether amps in her armless gear to annihilate every non-boss battle in a single cast of any of her spells. I think her only weak point is her gear's low HP/fuel/fuckingwhatever.

Billy was also pretty fun, but only for his gun skeelz.

Worst part of XG was that dungeon in Solaris(?) I guess where you had to use some music notes to unlock doors. I could never get that shit. I'm entirely visual and can't differentiate tones to save my life. I always hated that part.

There's one thing in the story that always really bothered me. At one point in the game you go the Ethos Dig Site while Fei is all fucked up and in the medical ward on the Yggdrasil. After you find Emeralda, Fei wakes up and starts having a vision about his past life which awakens Id and causes him to go to the Ethos Dig Site.
Did no one on the Yggdrasil notice Weltall turn into Id before he launched? Even if we assume that he waited until he was on his way to the dig site to transform Weltall, why did the crew allow him to launch in his state? The launch bay doors have to open on the Yggdrasil in order for the gears to launch (confirmed at the end of disc 1 when Fei/Id just breaks a hole in the Yggdrasil to launch) so it could not be the case that they didn't know. Also, does no one on the Yggdrasil find it suspicious that Fei returns in a smoking Weltall just before Citan/whoeverelseisinyourparty with no recollection of what he did?[\spoiler] I'm probably just being autistic.

HAR is just as valid a name for it as Wave Existence otherwise.

Citan is not among equals. He is in a class of mentor/guiding characters with more power to exert on events than most others, so it's inherently interesting seeing what he'll do with those capabilities, especially when your view of his potential role expands over the game. He was a very well-rounded person, foremost intelligent and proactive, without being a mary-sue.

Citan aside, I gotta go Bart. I've wanted to see an innovative whip kind of fighter in games since. Plus being a sand pirate sailing his (stolen) mobile fortress Yggdrasil? Even put a matching eyepatch over one of gear's eyes for style points. How can you not love that swarthy motherfucker of a prince?

I also have to mention Grahf just for scaring me senseless. He was like an evil counterpart to Citan, going around guiding the villains at times, but he only ended up serving as that Power Rangers villain who jumbo-sizes the villain of the week to let the good guys kill it again. More success on his part there would've pushed him up my list.

Both? RPGs don't usually leave much room for weapons to shine, but yes I'd be interested in some RPGs doing it. There are already a couple examples in fighting or action games, but especially within fantasy settings where there's less scrutiny put on the practicality of gear, it seems like a perfect opportunity.

The ship was going to dump deus some where safe. They were probably in the sticks of the universe and are to far away from there home worlds to be reached. They're probably still around but the ship was gone for thousands of years so it was probably to late to send a rescue party.
