What are the best games to get on Virtual Console or the best remakes to get on WiiWare? I saw a Blaster Master remake, is it any good?

Earthbound, one of a number of excellent reasons to buy a Wii U & 10 bucks is better then 150+.

>> No.1526626

>>1526615
I don't have a WiiU, just a Wii. Also, fuck Earthbound. Mother 3 was better.

Either case, I don't like to play JRPGs on my TV, they don't lend themselves well to it. They have very little going on visually most of the time so they don't benefit from being played on a larger screen, and then I have to sit around on my couch pressing A forever while on an emulator, I can fast forward to my will.

Then in that case, go with The Homebrew Channel.

Nintendo is slowly killing off the Wii, the shop will still be up for now but online will be shut off on May 21 of this year.

But if you what to support Nintendo and give the bird to THC, any Mario & Kirby game is always worth buying, I what to say Donkey Kong, but the games have been removed the Wii's VC and the 3DS version of Returns is almost better in every way (half the frame rate being the only down side).

>> No.1526648

>>1526642
I already own all the relevant Mario and Kirby games, and they aren't exactly rare. What can I get on this thing that I can't get elsewhere?

>> No.1526657

>>1526648
N64 games on VC can technically be had via emulators on THC, but the official stuff on VC runs above and beyond what you can get out of Wii64 or Not64.

Well, Dracula X:Rondo Of Blood is 160 bucks in it's original format, but is only 9 bucks on VC.

To clarify, Nintendo is killing matchmaking servers and other stuff like online high score boards because they were hosted by Gamespy. The online store isn't going anywhere.

>but the games have been removed the Wii's VC
Also wat

>> No.1526693

>>1526662
Thats what I said, the Online is shuting down on May 21 so that Nintendo makes you buy a Wii U, got to make way for it's DS VC on the Wii U.

>>Also wat?
The 3 Donkey Kong Country game and trhe C64 stuff have been removed for Unknown reasons (at least for DKC, the C64 stuff is based on licensing issiues and some people are saying that the C64 emu is not a good emu http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_J4saQEatbQ so Nintendo removed it because of it).

MSX stuff is also worth buying if you have a Japanese Wii, Space Manbow is over 300 Bucks in it's original format, but it's only 8 bucks on the Japanese Wii VC.

>> No.1526721

Sin and Punishment is good and Nintendo even translated the subtitles. The original JP game had English voices so it wasn't that big of a job.

>> No.1526863

The N64 wads are worth installing at least just because there isn't a good homebrew equivalent for that.

>implying vc sales figures have contributed anything meaningful to anything and the smart economical choice is to pirate the living shit out of everything on the Wii because even me at 14 could do it back when twilight hack was a thing

Keep living in your moralfag fantasy world though, maybe if you buy star tropics we'll see a modern sequel!!

>> No.1529145

>>1529138
we did see a sequel of Sin and Punishment because of the virtual console downloads.

For me the only reason to buy stuff there is thinking that in their next console Nintendo will create an account and you will own those games you bought forever, I mean, download them in any future Nintendo machine without having to pay for them again.

Man, look at fuckin' Che Guevara here! Laying down some TRUTH bombs! Executing some TRUTH dissidents!

I just wanted an old game I liked on a portable console I already own and was willing to pay 5 bucks for the convenience because I'm a fucking adult.

I guess figuring out how to emulate the snes version is too much for nintendo

>> No.1529181

nintendo has no competition so they don't actually have to try that hard

>> No.1529190

>>1529145
I doubt that will happen. With every new console, nintendo has an opportunity to re-sell people all their old games again. I think nintendo should offer some kind of netflix-style subscription service for access to the VC library.

You can emulate it flawlessly on both Wii and Wii u

>>1529291
sure but there are probably people who would buy it legitimately if they could

>> No.1531667

For VC, nothing. Just emulate.
For WiiWare, there's Castlevania The Adventure Rebirth, Gradius Rebirth, Contra Rebirth, Bubble Bobble Plus, Bust A Move Plus, Arkanoid Plus, Final Fantasy IV: The After Years, Bomberman Blast, Mega Man 9 & 10, Adventure Island: The Beginning, Dr Mario Online, Excitebike World Rally, MDK2, Frogger Returns, Mr Driller W, Star Soldier R, Rainbow Islands Towering Adventure, Sonic 4 (better to get on a different console, though. The other consoles have both episodes, and you can play as Metal Sonic if you have both. Wii only has episode 1)

And a pretty good "retro-styled" game would be Pole's Big Adventure. Japan only, but doesn't really require knowledge of moon, and easily piratable (like all Wii games)

Or, because Treasure was bored and wanted something to do. Also, the Wiimote pointer controls are ideal for a rail shooter.

Or you could just download the ROM and play it on every device you own, be it Nintendo hardware or whatever.

The worst part is I have 3DS e-shop. Would it hurt to give full support? I was itching to get Earthbound when i bought my wii-u.

At least you get the GBA levels.
