fuck i loved fifa 95, played the absolute shite out of it and really enjoyed how you had this sort of sound board when you scored, and you could press buttons an make a different celebratory noise, sounds crappy but it was different and i kinda liked it.

i genuinely fell out with my neighbour about whether fifa 95 or 96 was the best and didn't go round his for vidya for a whole month after

I also REALLY enjoyed International Superstar Soccer Pro, if England had a game coming up I'd play against their opponents and then the scoreline for my game would be the scoreline in real life, but sadly we never did win 13-0 so I guess my theory was rather wrong

>>1522178
try out International Track & Field on the ps1, if you find a proper copy and have someone over for vidya you can't beat it.

>This board is for the discussion of classic, or "retro" games. Retro gaming means consoles, computer games, arcade games (including pinball) and any other forms of video games on platforms launched in 1999 and earlier. With the release of the 8th generation of consoles, the Sega Dreamcast will now be considered "retro", though the remainder of the sixth generation (Xbox, PS2, GameCube) will not.

Yeah, it's bullshit but rules are rules. And this NBA Street is a pretty good game. Thinking about it, the whole Street series is very good, FIFA Street is my favourite.

kek. PES has been going downhill since 6, which was the pinnacle so far, even though both 2 and 3 are special contenders. PES 2008 was an abomination, 2009 was a bit better but still a huge disappointment, and then they stopped trying for the rest of the gen. If 2015 doesn't step their game up and go back to its simulation roots the PES franchise will be officially ded.

Always loved this game because of the woeful keeper AI which would be random as fuck.

Missed kicks, no attempts to save some shots and a bunch of comical save animations.

If you had rain on during a match it was piss easy to create OGs where the keeper would slide into the net when trying to pick the ball up.

Good times. Also, I loved how after getting yellow carded you could keep running away from the referee so he could never hand you the card and the game wouldn't continue until you got bored.

I'm not very big on sports games, but I played the shit out of this back in the day.
Gameplay was pretty good, I liked it a ton better than Fifa (and I also had Fifa 98 on the PS1).
I also played Fifa games on Genesis, but always hated them, never played ISSS on SNES though.

From what I can remember, the first Winning Eleven games were actually pretty good, ISSS64 was very similar to them, I'd say it's a winning eleven with a different name.

Then as I grew up I completely lost interest in sports or vidya sports unless it's something like Captain Tsubasa/Tecmo World Cup

>Nigeria method

I thought it was pretty common, everyone I knew who played it knew about it.
You basically picked Nigeria as your team and you could score a kick-off goal every single time against the CPU.
It was like this:

>kick off
>short pass to the right wing along the halfway line
>immediate long ball forward to the corner line
>immediate cross
>finish

You'd start every game winning 1-0 basically. Nigeria had this tactic that allowed you to do that. I've tried googling it but I haven't read anything about it. Maybe it's an unknown secret and me and my friends found out about it I don't know.

To my knowledge SNES. The sound is frankly ass, and get's stuck occasionally. Slightly better visuals but I don't think that's a big issue.

I don't actually know how you are going to play it on a standard genesis controller with less buttons. Scrolling the team menus is slower without shoulder buttons, and when you need a button for running, passing, lobbing and shooting you're one short. Anyone know how they resolved this?

Lob and shoot are on C, outside the box or inside the box, respectively.
It feels pretty limiting after playing the SNES version, but 6-button salvages it, and there's a few different control options to customise further.

Considering how much of an improvement it is over the original, no Mega Drive owner should be without a 6-button pad anyway.
