I played a PAL digimon game once on the PSX and it was super fun, but I could never find the game to buy.

I beat it for the first time in my life only the last month (finished storyline and recruiting all the Digimon). I had a lot of trouble with it because my Champions kept dying, until I arrived in Toy Town, then I got a Numemon on purpose, evolved it into Monzaemon, then the game became way easier and beat it with it. Very satisfying and rewarding. Also I love how it's a quite unique game and it has such cozy graphics, atmosphere and music. Also I liked the Japanese feel with all the signs and the File City interiors.

The only cheat to this game is figuring out that training much isn't actually that good

No, it is, it's just that training all stats evenly isn't good.

I remember I've played this game as a little kid. But it was quite confusing, I was stuck near the beggining.

I'm about to start playing this now. Is there anything I should know? I won't be using guides for evos and shit just asking if there are any game breaking things I should avoid or anything

I remember reading that the PAL version of Digimon World is unbeatable. Some kind of glitch in every copy.

Anyone confirm?

Never beat it though. Got bored pretty quickly when I learned that the only way to really make progress is to train for hours on end.

In the beginning, don't try to train stats evenly. Just pick two stats to boost up pretty high and don't worry about the rest.
Also make sure to beat Palmon in the forest as soon as possible, though you'll probably need to train a bit first.
In Jijimon's House talking to one of the digimon there at the beginning will get you a bunch of free items.
Talk to all the digimon in town every so often, because certain events can only occur once they've been mentioned by someone in town.

Yeah, there's a glitch that makes it impossible to get 100% completion. I'm pretty sure you can still beat the game, but the glitch makes you miss out on quite a bit of stuff.

Oh, and the only glitches you really need to be aware of are these:

-Don't talk to Giromon once you've recruited him. It will make the game freeze.
-Always carry an Autopilot (item that teleports you to town) when you trade with Mojyamon in the snow area, otherwise you can get stuck there.
-You can't get here until later in the game, but there's a room in Factorial Town with two Guardromon blocking the way. Don't run into the one on the left or you will get stuck and have to reset.

there are some other glitches but nothing especially harmful that you need to avoid.

You can get stuck in a conversation loop with the toy agumon in toy town. You can't access the menu so you have to reset.

I did have a weird glitch where my tyranomon got stuck in mojimon and despite not having the proper stats for metal greymon, I got him.

I just had these werid thing were i had Elecmon with all the stats under 1000/100, always run fights, all loss in the colloseum and the fourth day... sob just digivolved into Angemon, and i was like "the fuck...".

The other thing was after beating Ogremon at Drill tunnel i was on one of his Agumon and when he goes to the city i got stuck in and couldn't move... 3 TIMES!!.

My Hercules Kabuterimon died today... Time to raise a champion then Golden Banana them to greatness.

I haven't played this game in fucking ages. How the hell do you avoid getting shit-poopflingingmon? I got the molten fire one once and have no clue how the fuck I did.

You have to be careful about stats, but most importantly weight, since you could have good stats but end up with Numemon if you don't reach the proper weight requirement. There are several digivolution-related FAQs and walkthroughs around that explain all the digivolution branches and requirements for every Digimon in the game.
