When I was about 12 mainstream internet was new to where I lived. I used to go on IRC and chat under the moniker 'slickboy'. Used to try and find girls online and talk so much shit, like I was rich, had a Porche and and all this crap. Straight alpha male, and they all believed it. People will believe anything you tell them on the internet. One time this girl wanted to cyber sex and I didn't really know what it was but I said fine. She started saying the typical crap, sucking your dick, etc. Then she asked me if I came and I didn't know what it meant, top kek. I discovered masturbation not too long later though, also on the internet by accident, at 13 years old.

The main channel I used to go to on mIRC was #irc4kids or something on dalnet. One of the mod's names was 'charity' and she was so fucking hot - if it was really her. She had short blonde hair and was just a total qtp2t. Of course, in retrospect, I have no idea if it was actually her; could have just been a fat neckbeard. I think it was legit though because she put up so many webcam pics that were from those prehistoric, blurry webcams, and there were so much less girls on the internet back then. Nothing slutty, just her in her room, and stuff she'd buy like a new discman or whatever. She was a lot like Rose in terms of personality but she was much hotter. I remember she was in her 20's I would think damn, that's so old.

>Tfw 27 and still on the internet

Later on I ended up making my own channel with some internet friends. The biggest one we had was #bad@$$es and it grew to be quite a big channel at some point. All the mods (I think they were called Ops then?) were in touch with each other via ICQ. Man I had so many internet friends in the past. I've lost them all over the years, too bad. Oh well.

I miss Web 1.0.

But google changed their layout and I can't figure out how to filter out all the buying/selling threads or jump back a few years, so scroll down a bit until you start hitting 1999ish, post something funny if you find it

share all your demo disk experiences.

I remember that being the coolest thing about subscribing to pc gamer, you would just get a demo disk in the mail and be able to play games before they were out. And then there were those misc demo disks with like 500 random games on them and just playing them one by one trying to figure out what the hell they were about. It took me a while to find out what the hell starcraft actually was.

I still have that demo disk with duke nukem on it too.

Anyone remember an old strategy type game for PC back in the 90's that had you right click on stuff on the tile map and assign tasks for your little people to do (Like boarding up monster caves and stuff)? I remember getting it free from some anime website like Anime Turnpike or something. It had really simple graphics. I remember it was kind of tile based and it had a bunch of different levels. In the first level you played as different kingdoms which each had a different color and I think you were supposed to have your little workers kill the kings of the other kingdoms to advance to other levels. In one level you did the same thing but you were fast food chains in a mall. In another one you were robots on what I think was a post apocalyptic world. The last had you playing as fairies or something and the map looked kinda like candyland I think.

I can't remember the name and I'd really like to play it again for nostalgia-sake.

Though honestly, I've been getting into cyberpunk 2020 recently and all the online info on that game is from old webrings and shit. just take a look at this place for example. Hell no you aren't! Gamewinners.com was the ONLY place I'd go to for cheats/hints/whatnot (as far as websites go) back in the day, and while I don't use cheat codes in games as much nowadays, (and games made these days seem to have less cheats anyways) I still go back there every once in a while. Also, since I unwittingly sold my PS1 memory card along with my PS1 when I got a PS2, (I assumed that a PS2 memory card would hold PS1 saves also, fuck you Sony for not making that work) I'd always look up the "Unlock Everything" code for Tony Hawk's Pro Skater 2.

People talked about him a LOT up until maybe 2007 or so, but every once in a while, someone will bring him up thinking he's real. Less than a year ago, some autistic Sonic faggot made a video claiming that he once saw him in a game or some shit like that.

The very first Zelda sites I found back in 1999 was pic related, my family had just gotten dial-up after... maybe 8 months of owning a Windows computer (Windows 95, I believe? Then updated to 98 via burnt disc the people at dad's workplace gave my dad and other co-workers, as well the entire Microsoft Encarta, remember that?).

I remember going to to that girl Eiji's site (Last updated in Nov. 8 1998) and thinking "Huh, hasn't updated in 4 months, wonder when she'll update?"

Visiting all these incomplete old, especially in the Geocities archives makes me wonder, what ever happened to those people?

Met a friend on there who didn't happen to live too far away, introduced me to my fiance some years later.
