Make a recent purchase? Talk about it here.

Decided to get a Model-2 Sega Genesis from a used game shop that recently opened. I don't think I did too terribly.

>Console itself, necessary cables, single three-button controller = $30.00
>Disney's Aladdin with case and manual = $5.00
>Sonic the Hedgehog 2 with case and manual = $2.50
>Tazmania = $5.00
>Afterburner 2 = $3.00
>Rocket Knight Adventures = $9.00

So $54.50 for the whole package.

My last 3 /vr/ pickups.

1. A Valis II model older than I am. I've been cleaning it up, but I'm hesitant to put it together yet. I don't think I have enough experience to do it justice.
2. A Sailor Moon puzzle game. I bought it thinking it was a different Sailor Moon SNES puzzle game. I still can't figure out how to play it, but I think I may need to track down a mouse to make it work.
3. Devil Hunter Yoko for Genesis. Was originally sealed, but I got it cheap enough that I had no qualms about unsealing it. Really fun, but I can't beat the stupid shrimp boss in stage 3.

Bought the deluxe from Stone Age Gamer because I'm a lazy bastard and didn't feel like gutting one of the sports games at the local pawn shop when someone else could do it for me and make it look better to boot.

When I got it in I realized pretty quickly that I pretty much already have 90% of the N64 games I actually care about playing already. Only game I didn't have that I've actually played more than once is Snowboard Kids. So I just bought pic related from my boss for $5.00....

-A Playstation, used & complete in box with an extra controller and Tiger Woods Golf '99
-Some Sony printer that I've never heard of that he paid FOUR HUNDRED NINETY-NINE US DOLLARS for brand new, a $20 pack of photo paper and an overpriced $24 USB cable.

The printer is unused. I'm sure I'll never use it but he said I could have that too, and I like old shit like that purely for nostalgia. The reason he let me have everything for $5 is because he found his PS in the back of his closet, called up a used game store and that's what they offered him for it. So he asked me if I wanted it, and shit, for $5, of course I bought it.

I regrettably sold my PS plus a handful of games about 10 years ago or so, so I jumped at the chance to replace it.

He also has a NIB N64 that the used game shop offered him $15 for. I saw a used in box N64 on eBay go for $100 pretty recently, but I have no idea what they're worth really. Mine's boxed up in my closet. What do you guys think?

So, I've got the next three days off from work and I just got paid. Decided to celebrate a little.

I went to two different local vidya stores. One of them was having a 'March Madness' sale. They had a big shelf of assorted games that were all half-off. It was pretty much all their games in the store that weren't locked up in glass cases.

>Saturday Night Slam Masters, cart only ($5.00)
>Ms. Pac-Man, cart only ($1.50)
>Judge Dredd, CIB ($1.50)
>NBA Jam TE, CIB ($1.50)
>Ratchet and Clank, CIB ($2.50)
>Ratchet and Clank: Going Commando, CIB ($3.50)

The second store I went to was my usual place. No sales so the games were more expensive there.

>Sonic 3, cart only ($7.00)
>Sonic Spinball, cart only ($4.00)
>Altered Beast, cart only ($3.00)
>Pitfall: The Mayan Adventure, CIB ($5.00)
>Sega 6-PAK, CIB ($7.00)

Not exactly recent, but about a month long campaign on eBay in a quest to not get completely ripped off.

Tetris and Tomb Raider were from resident namefag Apartment Raptor for $20. They came bundled with a GBC and they were SUPPOSED to be a gift, but it never got picked up. I snagged Kirby for $5 shipped and Links Awakening for $10. Not the best of deals for that one, but if I wanted perfect deals, I would go to a flea market with my invisible leg-powered automobile.

Harvest Moon was a godsend. It was $12 shipped, but worth every penny. I haven't enjoyed a game this much in ages. The last two were in a bundle for $5 shipped as well, they were a little dirty and that cheesed me off but its not the end of the world.

All in all, $50 for all these and two more that are coming in the mail? How did I do for an eBay shopper?

I haven't bought anything in a long time, but today I was in a cool store and decided to pick some stuff up. The big popular names were stuck in an overpriced case (ie. Mega Man Legends 2 for 85 bucks) but there were some less expensive games that I snagged (since as Guybrush said, never pay over 20 bucks for a computer game).

Legacy of the Wizard
Baseball Stars
The Battle of Olympus
Batman (NES)
Unlimited SaGa (CIB, excited for this one, I love Kawazu's stuff)

Picked up a complete copy of Monster Rancher for the Playstation, along with Parasite Eve this week for $12 each. Not bad at all considering the local prices I've seen for each.

On that note, that same store I got both at wants nearly $30 for Parasite Eve II. Granted, I'm not real familiar with the series myself just yet, but that seems like a pretty big increase in price; makes me curious if they're charging that for decent reasons, or just trying to screw people out of money the way they usually do (seen them ask nearly $30 for a game that other local places have for $11, for example).
