Is there a good guide to build some SNES repro?

>> No.1454708

Ruining it for collectors and resellers, the true bane of /vr/ GAMING. Godspeed Anon, someone hand this man a well documented tutorial to creating repros.

>> No.1454727

Please don't do this. The only reason you would want to do this is to sell them and make a profit off our little hobby. Emulators allow you to play games that you can't afford, and we all know about the 5 screw little Sampson cart that was on ebay before. Please for the love of god guys, don't talk about building repos, because it will only lead to trouble.

>>1454727
Or, he will sell them for dirt cheap, so the people who aren't aware of emulation will be able to play the games for a meager price instead of being fucked over by greedy hooknosed curlycues. It will be good, because there will be more availability of games while at the same time forcing the prices of ALL the chosen system's games down.

Do it, OP.

You can make resellers unhappy and people who just want to play a game happy.

This

Not OP, but I'm looking into doing some repros myself, mostly for NES. I just figure me learning how to do this and paying like ~$50 for a game like Gimmick! is a lot better then paying fucking $600 for it on Ebay.

This is how I do it. Quick, cheap, easy.

Just make sure the game you're switching carts with has the appropriate number of slots for the contacts underneath.

That's retarded. Just break/file the plastic tabs in the cartridge slot.

Yeah I'm sure all those copies of earthbound, Flintstone dinosaur peak, and other +$100 games will be going for $30 as reproductions. You realize people do this and list it full price which is illegal and a scam? No one goes through the trouble of doing this without trying to make money, and especially when pristine labels of expensive games are on ebay for $10 each

Make as many repros as you want, OP, but just please note on the labels that they are reproductions. That's the difference between a repro and a fake copy.

You fags crying about your fake SNES games. I bought a bunch of MVS games months ago at an auction and 80% of them were fucking bootlegs. I lost $600 and couldn't do shit about it.

The processes available will depend on the game you want and what parts you have available/cheap so there is no one way to do it. It can be as simple as burning the rom onto a homebrew cart to swapping the roms on a similar same region cart to swapping roms and lockout chip on a different region cart.

And any other butthurts I may have missed
You have no idea why this guy wants to do this. If he just wants to play a game he can't afford why do you have a problem with that? If he wants to fool some collector/reseller scum who's too ignorant to tell a fake from the real thing do you really have a problem with him ripping off the dicks that have pushed prices up so much?

>> No.1457978

>all this collector/reseller scumb butthurt
This is why I love making repros. I make any damn game people commision me to make and I charge a flat fee of $40 a pop plus shipping. I don't advertise this, but I ask them for an extra $5 to exclude the [REPRODUCTION] stamp that I usually put on them.

>> No.1458287

OP if you really weren't trying to commit fraud you'd get a flash cart.

Please do ruin the collecting scene though, these mother fuckers who think Chronotrigger is worth more than $25 deserve to have the market crash on them.

I used to care about fraud but now I don't anymore because I insulated myself from the market. Once drive replacement start to come out for the original PlayStation and Dreamcast I can completely disconnect myself from the retro economy.

Eventually I'll even be able to simulate many old consoles at the transistor level on an FPGA so I won't have to deal with whacky mod shit and overpriced PPU bullshit to get RGB.

Do ruin the market though, all these other casuals are slow pokes.

Get out of /vr/ and don't come back. You mimic the carts not emulate the systems.

I don't know, I think the SNES looks much blander, though it might just be because I am more used to it. I really do not like the purples they used. I can say without any doubt that the SFC controller is better. I have no idea why they removed the colored buttons, or dropped the cool looking SFC logo altogether.

>> No.1458768

Flashcarts are expensive and targeted at people who want to pirate a wide range of games. If you just want a few games that are impossible to find and have the knowledge and equipment making your own carts is the way to go.
