Anyone know where I can find a retrogate group buy? I'd like to buy an SD2SNES but I'd rather save $40 by getting in on a group buy. You have to buy 10+ carts, however they don't have to all be the same cart.

>> No.1441268

Is it strange that I'm bothered immensely by the fact that that is shaped like a sufami cart? Also, this would be neat but how woild it work without allowing other neckbears to know too much of your dox?

>> No.1441274

If you can set up for people to buy in, I know I'm more then willing to jump in.

>> No.1441308

Im the guy doing one on other sites.
Retro gamer (Magazine forum)
Amibay (mostly a sales site)
Jamma+ (Arcade)
Retro Computer musiem
Id include here, but the none permanent side of things puts me off

>> No.1441329

I guess those wouldn't work with any games that require enhancement chips in the cartridges, right?

>> No.1441341

>>1441329
Correct. Flash carts are only the game data, and not the additional hardware. You'll still have to buy cartridges.

it is as it was only your shitty backasswards country that had its snes carts shaped like a retarded childs lego blocks

The SD2SNES does work with most games.
The Super ED works with few, but the relevant chip can be soldered onto it

The only notable DSP-1 games were Pilotwings and Mario Kart.

And some would say they are the only ones worth bothering with, the DSP-1 in mine is from Super Air driver

no sd2snes has an onboard fpga that is uses to emulate most of the special chips use by various games.

>> No.1441858

>>1441656
so in theory, the Super FX and everything else that isn't emulated can be added through firmware upgrade? or is a Super FX/every other chip multi-in-one chip being developed?

>> No.1441905

>>1441252
SD2SNES is dead, the guy behind it basically say, He doesn't have time to further develop the software. Also it doesn't have Game Genie Support
SuperEverdrive have game genie but doesn't have any special chip (You have to solder the cic yourself)

So there you have both carts are good, im a bit dissapointed by the SD2SNES author.
a Year latter:
>>SuperFX is too much for me to handle at the moment so I’m going to target some lower hanging fruit for now.

Also don't download firmware v0.1.5 is buggy as hell and it seems it will never be fixed

>> No.1442134

Honestly dude just hook a Wii up to a CRT TV and emulate SNES. I bought a flashcart and I regret it, they're expensive and despite being accurate you won't be able to tell the difference between that and emulation unless you have autism. And you still have to deal with region lock and that shit.

I didn't noticed that until mention it but it has MSU1 which already has some interesting homebrew.

It's funny because it's partially right.
But what about these obscure and how-the-fuck-you're-supposed-to-pronounce-that-name games. Oh right i forgot, these doesn't exist in your world.

This man speaks the truth. also a Mayflash SNES to Wii adapter if you want the control and you're too stingy that the original model Classic Controller isn't close enough.

Lots of people are working on REing the Super FX. I think you'd have to do at least a basic count of logic on both chips before proposing a theory as to whether any given FPGA will handle it.

Augggh, why must the SD2SNES be so damn expensive? Is it just because it hasn't hit economy of scale?

Don't fucking bump on this board, it's slow as shit and completely unnecessary since anybody that knows how to 4chan correctly uses the catalog.

Im tempted up upgrade from my Super to one, but at the end of the day at my events all people want to play is Mario Kart and Street fighter 2, for my self I either have it on cart or dont want it

Wii is easier to connect to a CRT and arguably more powerful than a laptop.

Buy once, cry once. You're not buying a cheap Chinese flashcart clone produced by technoslaves. Also without VAST production facilities, and without massive bulk discounts on component fabrication, flash carts are expensive.

Imagine how expensive your cell phone would have been teen years ago. Blue LEDs used to be hideously expensive.

Yeah, maybe if you're using a YakBak as a computer.

Its dead because no one wants to work on it. The source is completely open and no one is working on it. The hardware is done and the software could be expanded a lot.

Ill be doing a GameBoy Everdrive group buy when they come out pending on savings.

>>1447482
They ship all over the world, in the group buy they all get posted to mine then I sort out delivery/pick-up of them.

Yeah, ordering out of Retrogate right now is probably a bad idea with the whole Crimea thing going on right now. I was planning on getting EverDrives for my Famicom, Genesis, PC engine, and N64 but I'm gonna wait until everything blows over.

Thanks for that. I'm tempted to flirt with danger and just make an order, though.
