Flying Dragon

Fighter with two modes. Virtual, which is like Virtua Fighter but shit, and SD, which combines fighters and simple RPG mechanics. You get items, equip them to boost your attack or defense, fight battles and gain experience which will level up and evolve those items.

true but everything deserves one play. bad games like sonic 06 and (insert bad 64 game here) serve as a learning tool.
on one hand you could waste a couple hours, but on the other you could rent your new favorite game.

MGS is one of the biggest third party franchises on the planet, and Nintendo was nice enough to turn one of their most anticipate games into an advertisement for MGS4, which was coming out for a competitor's console. Likewise, MGS5 is coming out to every console under the sun except Nintendo's, and Nintendo is given the shortest stick when it comes to MG games.

If anything, I dare say Konami made more money from Brawl than they did from MGS4, considering it was free advertising and they get royalties.

Yet Kojima is the very same person who detests the NES version of Metal Gear. Who gives a shit if the NES version was the one that was actually successful enough to warrant a sequel, Kojima himself said it was bad. And what other MG games did Nintendo have? There was Snake's Revenge, which is not-canon. There was Ghost Babel, which was okay but not-canon. There's also the Backflipping Snakes that, GASP, is also not-canon.

Besides, could you imagine how fucking detrimental Snake in Melee would've been to the GameCube? A character from a franchise that has an upcoming game on a rival's console? The GameCube would've joined the DreamCast as soon as the game came out. If Nintendo was smart, they would've allowed Snake in Melee in exchange for exclusivity. It'd be retarded to have Melee be a commercial for the PS2, especially since the GameCube was a complete market failure.

The multiplayer modes can get fucking insane though. It's pretty frequent that there's so much stuff going on that I can't even keep track of it all. nobody sane thinks it's bad. the only thing that was bad were character animations and muddy graphics. Apart from that awesome soundtrack and the really archaic medieval atmosphere and great storyline starting with a caravan getting raided, the only bad thing was that the sequel Shadowgate Rising was never released and that not enough people bought Trials of the Four Towers. People probably overlook it because it's basically the only shmup on the N64 aside from Dezaemon 64. Meanwhile there are dozens and dozens of much better shmups on the Saturn and PSX, so anyone who cared about shmups had one of those systems instead.
The Saturn and PSX had Darius Gaiden, G-Darius, Gradius Gaiden, R-Type Delta, DoDonPachi, Radiant Silvergun, Soukyugurentai, Einhander, Battle Garegga, Batsugun, RayForce, Strikers 1945 II, Raiden DX, all of which are generally considered to be some of the best shmups ever made.
On top of that there's shitloads of generally well liked and very notable games, such as Harmful Park, DonPachi, RayStorm, RayCrisis, In The Hunt, Thunder Force V, Cotton 2, Cotton Boomerang, Zanac X Zanac, Sexy Parodius, Oshaberi Parodius, Twinkle Star Sprites, Shippu Mahou Daisakusen, and so on, as well as many great ports of games from earlier generations.
Star Soldier: Vanishing Earth simply cannot compete with all that. It is impossible.
