I'm pretty sure skeletons are the second most ubiquitous enemy in all of video games, next to bats.

Final Fantasy Tactics has Recruitable skeletons. They're not exactly the best monsters but I still like'em.

You can Use skeletons in Rhapsody, too. And Ogre Battle 64. huh, lots of those types of games have playable skeletons it seems.

I always thought about making a small joke game in rpg maker where you play as a whole band of skeletons going on goofy skeleton adventures with lots of bad puns and jokes. They spend their time traveling around trying to figure out how they died so they can rest peacefully, but then it turns out they were all born skeletons from a giant Skeleton Queen. They ended up getting too far from the hive and forgot how it do.
