Hell yes that move was hilarious.

In MvsC1, if you kill a guy, run into the corner just behind the tag team partner, and start the taunt while facing back, you can manage to lock him into blocking and do 100% chip damage. The other guy will normally block as he jumps in, falling into the fire which chips and blockstuns him. But since you are both facing each others backs, blocking (as well as advanced guard) will just push you both closer to each other. So you cannot break out of that hold.

I think the only way out of that trap is either to never block Jins taunt move, or to use advanced guard and then stop guarding - I think that latter makes it possible to get out of block stun for a split second, which you can use to stop blocking and get hit. But I'm not 100% sure on that.

Sentinel: Highest health total in the game, hardest hitting moves as well, nearly all of his specials can combo off his regular moveset as well or anyone else really, he can fit into any team pretty much. Even a piddly 10 hit combo from sent is enough to do like 50% of a lifebar to any other character that isn't Sentinel himself.

Storm: Can basically stay in the air forever, just float around, cast typhoon and mash jab to build meter(its as boring as it sounds).

Magneto: Has good rushdown and projectile game and his chip damage is absurd with magnetic tempest, even if you don't get hit by anything he can chip 20%-25% of your lifebar easy with one of his specials, he also has an infinite that's pretty brainless to do.

Doom: Kinda like magneto though more projectile heavy, in his case his projectiles have a lot of range and tend to fill the screen up, he also has good pressure with his foot dive since its entirely safe.

Cable: King of chip damage with less effort than what Magneto needs.

The reason these character dominate the game is because they're beyond broken, no other characters can even come close to these guys, if any low tier hero is in your squad with these guys you pretty much lost. Marvel 3 is not different with Vergil, Doom, Spencer dominating the game right now.

Marvel 3 isn't really dominated by any specific group of characters though. Vergil is very good, but his weakness is that without X-Factor he has very few safe moves. Doom can be pretty strong with certain assists, the FOLLOW MY LEAD with Amaterasu is beyond strong and his comboability is among the best, but alone he is just not a threat. Spencer is overall good but his air game is very weak and he can be beaten by both aerial and small size characters like Storm, Firebrand and Rocket Raccoon.

I'd say only Zero is the only really truly broken character because he has so many advantages and his disadvantages are easily covered. He moves fast, hits hard, has great comboability and meter gain, can one touch kill, has amazing pokes, safe DHC into Sougenmu and can convert off of pretty much any special attack, strong air and ground tactics and a smaller hitbox that gets him out of some combos. He even has a really good assist with Hadangeki when Sougenmu is activated.

I have a US PCB that I modiefied to allow for Norimaro to be playable. It's not that difficult. In fact it's outside of the protected area so you can do it even with encrypted ROMs.

Rushdown: Generally categorized as a character that's always in your face and keeping pressure on you, forcing you on the defensive.

Projectile game: Character that uses projectiles to keep you away forcing you to come to him, someone like Sagat in SF for example or even Ryu in SF.

Generally most fighting game characters fall under these 2 categories, some can do both but are usually weak on one of the 2, there are exceptions of course, Kabal in Mortal Kombat can do both with scary efficiency.

Chip damage: When you block in most fighting games you tend to take a little bit of damage as well, this is called chip damage. It generally prevents a match from dragging on to long.

Amazing pokes: Certain moves in a character's repertoire that he can use to break through your defense, these moves can either connect outright or a player can use them to keep you constantly on the defensive, any character with amazing pokes usually means that that they're all safe, he can just keep blocking, manipulate your position with no danger to himself.

It's why there are sprite animations of him with English text. He's even in the ps1 port.

You just have to use a cheat system to use him. MAME and Final Burn Alpha have cheat systems for the arcade version; gameshark and emulator equivalent for ps1.

Looks like he's swinging his left arm so hard that his waist has turned around 180 degrees. Yet his neck is twisted in such a way that he's still vaguely facing forward. At the time Capcom was making Darkstalkers and Children of the Atom they were really honing their animation techniques, so they did some pretty exaggerated, rubbery cartoony-type stuff.

If you've ever played somewhat decent high level MvC1 you really wouldn't say that so be thankful you never did. MvC2 is far better for casual play than MvC1 is in this regard because so many more viable mid level team combinations.

MvC1 can pretty much almost be boiled down to "Get 2 meters, qcb, HP+HK: the game" especially with particular teams like Strider/(Gold)War Machine. There goes like 25-30% of your life in chip damage with War Destroyer+Legion double super during the duration repeatedly. And then they build up 2 meters again within 12 seconds or less and it repeats again. Not even joking about that either, meter can build extremely fast in MvC1.
