1390927 No.1390927 [Reply] [Original]

Just swapped a Neo Geo X Gold console for a GBA SP Famicom console.

How'd I do, /vr/?

It's a shame that these are AGS-001.
Make the choice to swap the guts out, or build a little display case for it.

I like it but still prefer the NES colored one. It even had that weird sandpapery material on it like the old controllers.

I run a small eBay store that sells games.
I agree with you.
Honestly the game has become absolutely insane in the past couple years.
I play all my games on native hardware, but I recently decided to download roms (of all the games I own) and play them on my laptop while I am out and about. Just to get through the backlog.

I have come to the conclusion that the physical aspects of retro collecting is great, and fun, and the hunt makes it so sweet, but the prices attached to some of these items is absolutely insane. I haven't downloaded any roms of games I don't own physically, can't tell you why, but I am tempted sometimes for games like Hagane and such.

Point is, I make a small fortune on selling video games online. And I blow it all on video games online. It is counter intuitive.

That will be fine actually. That would be great. I work for the police as my day job.
The only reason I have my ebay store is to pay for video games. It is sort of a self sustaining hobby. Once the crash happens, that will be wonderful.

you really think so? more people now than ever are aware that old games have value. and it's not just certain ones, people seem to think that if it's an old video game it is inherently valuable. the more common this way of thinking becomes, the worse it's going to get for us.

I think it's the same thing as that "Time Machine 8-bit Game Adapter" just slightly redesigned to fit better into a DS Light. It's called the "Familator Lite" supposedly made by a company called Cyber. Looks like they're also out of production but a bit more common. One went on eBay last month for $50.

There are quite a few "Game Axe" style Famiclones with screens you could even build one yourself for like $40

The Neo Geo X is a handheld emulation device that you can hook up to a TV and, I believe, real Neo Geo controllers to.

I lucked upon mine at Goodwill for $5 (maybe less.) It's earlier design than the one I posted above. No AV out option, and the battery doors are flaps at the bottom corners. They're used to apply pressure to keep the batteries in contact, so I'm afraid one day they'll break.
I'd show a pic of it running, but it's sometimes a pain to get working. It needs a GBA game to be plugged in, so there's three points of contact that can fail things Then when you're playing, try not to rattle the FC cartridge.

>>1392921
Nah the controllers are styled like the AES ones but are made of cheaper parts and have USB connections.

The good news is that the controllers can be used on PC.

The FUCK YOU news is that no other USB controllers can be used on the Neo Geo X Gold.
