What's your favorite PS1 game?
Mine's this one. So many memories...

>> No.1388440

Spyro 3 for me. A strong second place goes to Metal Gear Solid.

All three Spyro Games are among my favorites. Same with Crash 2 and 3.

Grown pretty fond of Tales of Eternia too. Picked up a copy a while back and thoroughly enjoyed it. Gets bonus points for still playing pretty damn fluidly even now, even if it's not that refined compared to later entries in the series.

Metal Gear Solid all day!

Or FF7 or 9

...Or Crash 3.

I get my cord for my PS1 in the mail tomorrow or friday I hope, I cannot wait for this shit, I have not even booted the thing up since I bought it over a year ago. Shame..

I love Spyro but I only played first one. Second and Third have some weird gimmicks. Too complicated for its own good. My favourite is Ape Escape. Yesterday I finished it in japenese cause I wanted to have original voice acting.

The only place I've gotten this to work on is my PSP. There's a common problem on ePSXe where dialogue won't advance.

Interesting topic of dicussion, well I remember been blown away when I first saw wipeout, my friend had the console near release with wipeout. I literally couldn't believe the speed and graphics that the game had, moving from the mega drive I was staggered, unbelievable, I had to have that game, I begged, luckily it was near christmas and I sold my mega drive to fund it. I don't regret it though as I played that game for hours, although I have had many games for the PS1 wipeout will always be remembered as that game.

Just got into this yesterday for the first time and i'm loving it so far, I was always more of a naughty dog guy back then but lately i've been on a ratchet and clank marathon and since I ran out of R&C games I decide to finally give this game a chance. Boy did i miss a great game.
I'm hoping the sequel turns out to be the Going Commando of Spyro.
Running out of Insomniac games to play...

Still have the disk, and it's been scratched to hell for years. It's something that I really need to find another copy of when I can.

Wild Arms 2.

Despite it's lack of decent editting, it is still the best JRPG I've ever played.

Yeah fuck you and your strange preferences, Spyro 1 is a better game than 2 because it's got better design. Spyro 2 is a goddamn mess with pipe levels and minigames because Insomniac couldn't make a full lenght open world platformer.

>> No.1391547

Spyro 2 is objectively superior for like 10 minutes, until you realize all the levels are shittier and there's talking animals everywhere.

Yeah, Insomniac used to be pretty dang good. All three of the Spyro games they made are great. Most people tend to enjoy the second game the most if they're not the sort who dislike suddenly have other characters to interact with and sidequests to do. Some feel that the third tries to do a bit too much due to the other playable characters, but it's still pretty dang good.

Oh, and the second game gives you a reward for 100% that can be carried over to a new game.

Not him, but some of the side characters were actually kind of fun (Agent 9 could have been handled a lot better though), and the skateboarding made for a kind of interesting diversion. I agree with the Yeti boxing though; fuck that.

Actually don't really have a favorite out of the three games since I played and loved each one so much growing up. First game definitely has the comfy factor though.
