Basically, retro games are in the middle of a huge absurd price bubble. A lot of things are double or more what their price was as recently as 2011.

This is largely in part thanks to two groups; the retro-hipster shits who don't know anything about collecting, think the NES is just LIKE SO COOL GUYS and will pay the first price they lay eyes on for anything, and the resellers, who go garage saling and hit flea markets and ask for games of craigslist, then turn that shit around and sell it for absurdly inflated prices because they know some dumbass from column A is going to buy it.

If a reseller bought it, he's getting it over someone who would actually play the damn game.

Looking at that art, and by extension how /v/ and /a/ look, /vr/ looks he'd stick out quite a bit. The old board mascots were drawn in a simpler time, where newer ones like /vr/ and /d/ are... well...over designed.

Also, the Japanese and European name for the Sega Genesis was "Mega Drive". Depending on who you ask, it either sounds like a poorly made arcade game from 1986, a European pre-built gaming PC for beginners, or a really cool name for an attack.

To be honest /vr/ doesn't really console war, we're pretty equal opportunity.

Well, except for Genesis/SNES Aladdin

And soundchips

And Sega is good for us, since they don't make consoles anymore, and we all associate the NES and SNES with retro-hipsters to a certain degree.

But I fucking adore the idea of /vr/'s block being Sonic 3 inside Sonic and Knuckles inside the SMS adapter inside a 32X inside a Genesis on top of a CD or something.
