1368289 No.1368289[DELETED]  [Reply] [Original]

So, are the Sages dying before they appear in the Temple of Light?
Are Saria, Darunia and Ruto dead? What even killed Ruto all she does is swim up a tunnel and disappe- Oh snap, she was dead already.
Also the battle against Dark Link is now one of my most favourite boss battles ever.

>> No.1368326

What if dark link was the real link and after you killed him the rest was all a dream.

>> No.1368368

I think it is implied she got lost in the water temple and ends up getting whacked by morpha or possibly dark link.

>> No.1368367

>>1368289
I'm not pretty sure but i remember reading that, were a sage to die, he would be unable to awaken, so no, they are not dead.

>> No.1368389

It is only implied due to Darunia fighting Vovolgia and never returning. As Volvolgia apparently eats Gorons.

You can take it however you wish, it is only fan speculation based on this scene as there is no scene of the other sages that imply in any way that they die.

Anyone interested in the Zelda games should watch the videos Mathewmatosis did on the series. They're pretty long all together but there's some interesting critique in there.

That was actually a little disturbing the first i saw it.

but to answer original post.. isn't it implied saria's already dead/lingering in the forest temple from the start of the game? i always found it strange how she mysteriously appears on the bridge exiting kokiri forest to give link the fairy ocarina. Was this just due to limitations/draw distance or does she actually just appear like that?

Hyrule Historia is fucking retarded in some aspects. It states the canonical order of the Oracle games, which is stupid, and it just... No. No. Link also fell in love with Saria, but killed himself when he realized they couldn't be together. Then, so they could be together, Saria killed herself as well. Then, they live out a happy life together in the Sacred Realm. Screw anyone who says otherwise.

From what I gather, that's partly the western fanbase fault.

They wanted a Zelda timeline, asked Nintendo a gazillion times as well for "dark and mature story for mature gamers such as ourselves".

Since Zelda doesn't seem to have a big fanbase in Japan, remaining relatively niche, this is where Nintendo's fault enters: Giving in to the desires, ruining the core philosophy of "gameplay is first, the story doesn't matter", which made the earlier entries in Zelda so iconic and enjoyable.

That said, I kinda like how Ganon is the re-incarnation of Demise, and how being the Demon King he can't be simply eliminated for good... Not by SS Link's incarnation.

I see WW Link as THE finale (for his timeline), he's not the Link that fought Demise, he's a random kid who got caught in the conflict.

And because he's a badass random kid, he could end up the re-incarnation cycle, the demon's curse.

Also, to be fair, I don't think Ganondorf remembers his previous life as Demise, so I don't believe it really undermined him. As the pig Ganon, though... Well, maybe he does when he's Pig form.

You can do that with anything that doesn't wear clothing. Like a fuckton of harpies, the fairies in Breath of Fire (speaking of BOF you can do that with Katt), and you seem to have forgotten that Eiko Carol, a six year old, wears an outfit that's baggy on the limbs yet has a form-fitting light-pink suit that clings to her body shape.
