What's your best get? It could be the biggest bundle, rarest game or hell, even the best story tied to getting your game/bundle.

>fairly new to collecting at the time
>NES collection just starting to take off
>I think I had just a little under 100 NES games
>looking through B/S/T pages on FB

>no pic but listing of a big lot of NES games
>PM them and ask what they're wanting for them
>never give a direct price, just things like "well, I don't know what I'd even want for them"
>either they didn't care/know about what they had or just really needed money
>ask if they'll take $80
>with a quick response "Yeah, that'll be great"
>I meet them (guy and girl in older SUV)
>"I threw in some extra stuff too. I don't need/want".
>guy sets tote on ground in the parking lot where we met
>drive home after seeing how many games there were, being all excited and shit
>pull out the big tote from my backseat
>smell something funny
>eww, dog shit on the bottom of the tote
>either from when the guy sat it down, or maybe it was already there or something, it just fucking stunk
>clean out seat, clean tote, put games and extras in room and posted in weekend pick up thread
>pic related

>Biggest manual I've ever seen on a PS1 game.

That's actually says something. I hate modern manuals, just a folded piece of paper with nothing but warnings and copyright info.

I bought a PS1 game yesterday and it brought back a bunch of feels. I can't articulate it all but games used to seem so much more engrossing. The immersion started in the backseat of your parents car on the way home from the store, reading the back-story, character bios, weapon descriptions and stuff. Scrutinizing every screenshot. Your imagination filling in the blanks.

Probably. I've seen some girl friends/wives do crazy shit. My uncles wife made him sell all of his shit. He used to collect model cars, hotwheels, comics and retro vidya. I remember before I actually started collecting and not long after he got with her, I bought him Uninvited off of eBay. After a couple of years with her, she had him sell everything. He used to be my vidyabro.

Here's my two favourite deals:
PS2 DTL-H30002 (Debugger) complete with a copy of Vice City, iToy, and a controller. Paid £50.00 (about 80.00$) for the lot, and it was well worth it, considering that it's regionless, and I'd been after one for a while.

Got a bag filled with the following for £7.00 (about 11.50$): Gamecube with some batman game in it (no wires), Sega Master System complete with a controller and light gun, a SCPH-1002 PS1 (no wires), a Dreamcast (no wires), Micro Machines for GBC, and a few other little bits and pieces.

Can't be bothered taking pictures right now, as it's 03:36am. Might do it tomorrow, if I have any spare time.

>If the latter, you do realize that behavior is seen as cancerous, is highly frowned upon in /vr/, and will get you labeled as reseller scum

If you try to sell games at all for around their going price you're branded a reseller.

If you're not spending your own money to hand games out to some people for free, they'll call you reseller scum.

This is why I'll never bother to sell any of my stuff here.

I was at a resale shop about 10 years ago. a guy walked in with a basically brand new NES, with the gun and R.O.B. the deluxe set, in box, mint. They went through his stuff and offered him $20 or $30 store credit. I walked over to him while he was browsing and said "turn down their offer and I will give you $50 cash. He said sure. this NES still has the plastic and the manuals, if it was graded it would be 95 or better and R.O.B. works.

I've been talking to a guy through email for a little while now. I was selling some stuff on CL and he responded defensively saying that I "shouldn't use eBay as a price guide" ect. ect. What I was selling is going for around $45-$50. I usually start out around the eBay price because almost instantly, I get haggled. I don't mind dropping the price but even if I had $20 on it, someone would still ask "Would you take $15?". Anyway, we talk through email for a good while and I notice on FB he's selling a couple of games that he told me he got in a deal with a top loader for $20.
>Chip and Dale Rescue Rangers loose
$10
>Gauntlet 2 CIB
$30
I think it's funny that he feels that others who use eBay to get a rough starting price shouldn't yet he can charge over eBay prices, at least in the case of Gauntlet 2 and that's alright.

My friend and I went to a thrift shop two days ago. There were a ton of consoles in the back, but in the 'employees only' part. So we go to the front and look at the games in the glass case, where he picks up Contra and Super Contra for $3 a piece. The lady there asks if we knew about their consoles, and we asked when they're going to be put out. She tells us to to talk to the guy in charge of that section (home and gardening for some reason). He wants to get rid of the shit, and says it's $5 for the console, $2.50 per cord, and $5 per controller. That section happened to be half off that day, so I walked away with a working XBox, NES, and Dreamcast for $14. The next (yesterday, not half off), I got a XBox (this time with broken disc drive) N64 (working), and PS2 for $31. He told us to come back Sunday after he's weeded some stuff out and he'll sell us the rest for one price. (At first he offered everything they had for $150, so it'll probably be less than that considering how much sells.) So Wednesday we're going to weed out a little more, and either then or Sunday I'm looking to get the two Gamecubes they have, the Game Gear, and my friend wants the Atari 2600, and we're going to go halfsies on the 20 or so Xboxes they have and the 8 or so PS2s. I didn't even get to see everything they had, so aside from the plethora of controllers and games I did see, there might be a lot more worthwhile stuff to come.

My dad once found a PS1 during some kind of community wide garage sale. Came with power cord, composite cable, an original controller, and Frogger. The whole thing was $5.
I've also found a bundle of stuff from some guy cleaning out his day's attic. An Intellivision, over a dozen games with the boxes, 20 Genesis sports games, a bunch of carrying cases for Game Gear and GBA SP, Pac-Man collection on GBA, and fucking Metroid Zero Mission. The whole thing was $40, but he refunded me $25 because the console didn't work. Once I sell the sports games, it'll be maybe $5 or $10 for Metroid and an Intellivision collection. Not bad.

I managed to get a Sega CD down from £30 to £5 once just because I waited. The dude at the car boot sale who was selling it was holding out for a buyer, I offered 15, he said 20, "nope", I walked away, and as he was closing up I passed his stall and he waved me over.

>Asks guy how much
>"For you, $35 with both controllers, the VMU, and 5 games if you want."

Greatest console decision I've ever made in my fucking life.

Also,

>$10 for me since i've bought from him a lot and we're good acquaintances

Bought it off of some lady selling her son's collection. She wanted $100 but I talked her down to $50. Best score I ever got.

I just finished selling off the last of them. Made over $700. Get mad.

One day on craigslist I scored 3 Sega Genesis about 30 boxed games for $30. All I was after was Gunstar Heroes which at the time was going for $30 complete. Not bad.

Model 1 Genesis, Model 1 Sega CD, 32X, all needed wires, all RF shields and a copy of Sol Feace in the disc drive. $20.

Panasonic Fz 1 3do. A lamp fell on it and burnt a crater into it. Cut it out and hot glue in some plexi glass. Gorgeous custom disc window. $15.

Buy a perfect N64 controller for $15. Throws in a free N64 because it had paint marker on it. Sand it, paint it, looks pretty nice.

Meet girl. Get tons of blow jobs. Tell her I like video games. She gives me a box of 40 NES games. Added 20 to my collection and the rest are doubles or non desirables. Get more blow jobs.

Only time I see video games at a garage sale. Tons of complete Genesis games. Score Phantasy Star 2 - 4 for $9 total. All in excellent condition and complete. Contra Hard Corps $3. Final Fantasy IX $5.

>Go to comic con last year
>Went around looking for some deals
>Turn up with decent games, although I overpayed on some of them (Streets of Rage Cib for £10)
>Go up to a stall I haven't seen in a while
>Nothing but crappy Mega Drive games, and controllers all tangled up
>See a box behind the desk
>"Hey" I ask the guy behind the desk "What's in that box"
>He takes out a few things
>Suddenly a Mega Drive, along with a Mega CD
>Blurt out "HOW MUCH FOR THAT?"
>He looks a bit confused, and said £30
>"What about for the thing under it? It should detach"
>He detaches it and gives it to me for £20

>mfw Mega CD model 1 for £5.

I then went to another stall and talked to the guy on there about Sega games and stuff when he noticed I bought a Mega CD.
