post a bad retro game and a superior alternative (doesn't have to be in the same series, just similar gameplay)
i'll start with an obvious one:

Sonic 2 was pretty incredible and much better than 3 on its own(I know 3 wasn't originally designed to be a game by itself). The level design is much more refined and less tedious. The powerups that were introduced in 3 made the game way easier. The only level that I actually really enjoyed in 3 was ice cap and a bit of launch base. Everything else was just boring and drawn out. Most of the music in 3 was pretty lame compared to Sonic 2(B...BUT MUH MICHAEL JACKSON!)

Sonic 3 and Knuckles together is an incredible adventure though, and if you like it better that's understandable, but I really don't get how you could like that but not 2. And straight up fuck yourself if you think 3 on it's own is better than 2.

Sonic 3 on its own is incredibly overrated and I'm pretty sure most of the people that actually like it more than 2 only do so since it was their first genesis game or something. That's what you get with people born in the 90's I guess.

I like Sonic 2 a lot, but mostly because it was my first Genesis game.

Also, I'd play with my friend, and one of us would take control of Tails and totally wail on the boss while the other just avoided dying. Super cheat, but it totally worked. Beat the game that way. Good times.
