Do such controllers exist, or are they all terrible?

>> No.1300984

The SNES fighter pad and the arcade stick for PS1 looks okay to me.

>> No.1301165

I pity anyone who didn't have the ASCII SNES pad. It was way more durable than Nintendo's controllers, had toggle/full autofire, and comfy face buttons.

I have the regular-sized PS1 controller in that picture, it's pretty good.

>for PC, SNES, and Genesis

Besides maybe PC, what does it do with the SNES and Genesis? Neither of those consoles even had rumble controllers, what did it do and how did it know when to do what it does?

Still lovin my "specialized joystick" with adapter

stick uses microswitches but the buttons are membrane. not the mushy kind but a solid, haptic kind

Apparently the Aura Systems Interactor Vest (tm) uses any audio signal for input. You can also use it to enhance your movie viewing experience.

There is a very informative review at http://www.combatsim.com/htm/mar99/aura2.htm :
>The rumble of the engine at 80% power could be felt through my body. I pushed up to full military power. The sensation was VERY nice. I kicked in the burner and WOW, my body was saturated with the feeling of power.

It's basically like a powered subwoofer with a very low crossover threshold. If it detects the lowest of the low frequency the console can put out, it thumps. When he say he kicked in the burner, he means he changed a switch that raises the threshold of the crossover a little bit so some of the other lower frequencies make it vibrate a bit.

Remember that back in the 90s we were used to having subwoofers in our cars powerful enough to puff our ragtops.

>>1301236
It was written by Leonard "Viking1" Hjalmarson, who tested it on his Celeron 300A at 450MHz. He has a Kenwood 52X Zen CD, so he must be a pro gamer and trustable reviewer.

Yeah actually. Omron switches, great aesthetic, the buttons can be a bit stiff.

Megamaster has to be the best name you can come up for a product.

Even official Playstation 1 controllers were junk due to their crappy quality. Same goes for Playstation 2 and 3 official controllers. I don't know about Playstation 4 controller but I doubt if Sony changed their tradition on making crappy quality hardware.

There are a lot.
To start with, any gamepad for the Saturn by definition must be oodles better than the original shit.
The virtua stick clones for the playstation were some of the best fighting stick controllers for the PS and I still use them today on my PS3.
Pre 90's you had to either mod an original controller or buy a third party one if you wanted auto fire, etc.
Some people wanted a light gun that works on a US dreamcast

It's true a lot of shit came on the market in the later 90's but mid 80's through mid 90's most of the best controllers were 3rd party.

I've only used one beat to shit first party Genesis controller (the 3 button version) and this thing's better in every way. Fantastic d-pad, great face buttons that are closer to SNES buttons in travel distance, and more comfortable as well.

I like the DS4 much more than the previous controllers of their machines. Not that I quite match your universally junk opinion.
