What would you guys say is the hardest Megaman NES game? I've played 1,2 and 3, and 3 is definately the easiest out of those in my opinion. I've just started Megaman 4 too, the only stage I've played so far is Ring Man but I'm already getting butt blisters

Probably 2 or 4.

I had more problems with 2 mostly because >muh slide.

For me, 1 is the hardest. I've never beaten it, I can't beat a single stage.

I've beaten 2 around 50 times and I can beat it in under an hour. I've beaten it on difficult once.

I beat 3 once, but I don't count it because I was using save states. I tried again recently to beat it and I couldn't. I think I got to the Dr. Wily stages but could pass them.

Of the others for NES, the only one I've beaten is 6. It was really, REALLY easy. My friend and I beat it in a day and it was the first time we had played it.

I like to start with Pharaoh Man and then Skull Man to load up on E's.

I don't really think any of them are very hard. 3 is pretty long so that could be a problem. 1 has some tough spots. Going through the gauntlet of Robot Masters towards the end can be rough.

>> No.1274585

>>1272153
Megaman 1 is definitely by far the hardest: besides the obvious lack of E tanks and save features; there's also things like enemy placement, faster falling, insta kill spikes (even with post-hit invincibility), and the footholder glitch peppered in as well.

>> No.1274610

1.
All the other games have workarounds in the forms of Rush assists or E-Tanks. 1 has that shitty magnet beam that runs out after 1 attempt and can fuck you over easily compared to Rush Jet or even Item No. 2.

And there's also those boss rushes, unless you abuse the elec beam like the little bitch that you are.

2 is a close comparison, but it's a lot fair in it's mechanics and trick areas, plus, it has e-tanks.

Everything after 2 is a joke.

I've beat all 6 on the NES, no savestates (that makes difficulty simple as hell) and I'd say 2 is the easiest, 1 is a bit of a bitch, and for some reason, 4 gave me a bit of trouble too.

with toadman, literally stand next to him, and shoot him. he'll jump over you. change directions, shoot, he'll jump to the opposite side of you. shoot. he'll jump again to the opposite side. it's simple as hell. you don't even have to move.

>> No.1278139

>>1277490
as soon as the battle starts, start shooting. when he gets hit, he jumps over you and lands. turn and shoot him. he'll jump over you again and land on the other side. shoot him immediately. he'll repeat this pattern of jumping over you, just make sure you turn and start shooting the second he jumps and his life will drop like the bitch he is.

Pro tip for folks playing the first Mega Man:

If you hold down the fire key, you can extend your Magnet Beam to any distance at no extra cost! Careful though, it lasts for the same amount of time as it would if you only pressed the button for a moment!
