1. Cartridge games where becoming more and more expensive. They had to go to CD base media sooner or later. And because of the success of the PSX it seem that was the time.
2. I would actually love this. Playing Link Between Worlds and while I'm enjoying it I wonder what it would be like if I didn't know the map from playing Link to the Past.
3. With the PS4 and Xbone having more or less PC type hardware it's not that much of an issue. Mostly just tone down the graphics and they can play it. But back then it was a fucking pain I bet and didn't work all that well.
4. There are interesting First Person games. Since this was around '95 I'm guessing Quake didn't show up yet. But they still had Ultima Underworld and other First Person dungeon exploration. Maybe System Shock if it was made after that came out. Funny how he said this then and now the industry in flooded with FPS.
5. There was a good few movie based games. I really enjoyed Toy Story on the SNES.
6. Never played Monster Max but heard nice things.

system shock was game of the year in 94. We have already discussed this to shit though. Jon ritman is just a butthurt faggot who couldnt keep up with the times. He could have been trying to do something good with the first person genre himself instead he just sat on his ass bitching and complaining that his isometric games werent "the way forward in the industry"

That'd be nice if just... everything... wasn't written in C.

Pretty much, yeah. He's a one-hit wonder from the ZX Spectrum days who had never worked with a modern platform in his life and probably thought that assembly programmers (such as himself) are still relevant.
