This melancholy little gem here. The music gets a bit lame after you leave the ocean, but it's pretty awesome nonetheless.

Super Metroid. Although I think crocomire is over done..

Hexen, it's pretty much the only game I play these days.

Meant to say Streets of Rage 2 as a runner-up I think. Possibly Zillion because that's the game that really turned me into a gamer as a super young child.

I always wanted it more than anything as a kid, but I never got it. They didn't have it at the Blockbuster I went to. I got to rent it once by going to a different one that was out of town, but that was it.

Playing it again this past year has been wonderful. I beat it for the first time too. Pretty challenging. I had to sort of cheat by spamming the long distance gem shots with Wile E Coyote and Marvin.

I wanted this game even after I had an N64. I rented it from Family Video and stayed up all night playing it that weekend. I told my folks how much I loved the game and they looked all over for it and couldn't find it.

Also had to learn to get good at blocking. I tend to have 5-10 blocks per quarter now.

I played it again for the first time since I was like 4 and it feels like a 10/10 arcade game. Way better than I thought it was before. There's more skill to it than there initially seems and it's a blast.

I think Elmer is slow as hell or something. I couldn't stand him. He was bottom tier to me. Crazy good game though. Not quite as good as I thought it was in my youth, but still very playable and fun.

These days I think I'd do Yosemite Sam and Marvin or Wile E.

This is the greatest game of all time to me. It was very beautiful at the time and still holds up kinda well with its stylish aesthetics. Everything about it is kind of solid, but people shouldn't expect anything innovative here. It didn't really do anything that hadn't been done before, but it did everything pretty well. Everyone who is open to RPGs should probably play this at some point in their lives. It's not very long. You can grind to level 99 in under 20 hours if you're good. The main game ends at about 50. If you take your time and enjoy the experience, it's probably about 20-30 hours for a normal, relaxed playthrough. Whether you want to do the epilogue or not is up to you. Like the rest of the game, it's pretty high quality and not some half-assed garbage put there to artificially extend the length of the game. They actually put time and effort into it so it's at least FF tier or a bit better.

Also, I'll just throw out a well known game that doesn't need to be discussed because everyone knows about it.
