Super Mario World can only handle four turning blocks at the same time. Spinning with the cape into a whole bunch of them can flip more than that, causing the first block to spontaneously rematerialize to make room for the fifth. If that first block is on top of Mario, the game tries to push him to the nearest open space--potentially through walls.

Under the hood, Super Mario World is a bit of a mess.

There's actually a wild glitch where you can inexplicably trigger The End screen in the middle of one for the very early levels.

you're probably using znes

that's your problem

The fact that he was able to do a tool assisted run to duplicate all those bugs and the game still didn't outright crash is actually pretty impressive

This. ZSNES is too mainstream.

You're fucking retarded, zsnes may not be the greatest snes emulator of all time ever, but it doesn't just cause well known games to just do weird shit. As mentioned above SMW is a tad buggy.

I've seen the first method, but not the second. I suppose it can be done just about anywhere as long as the proper amount of items are nearby.

Wonder if that would work to kind of wrong warp to any point in the game. Like if you felt like skipping over the Vanilla Dome, and all its autoscrolling bullshit.

ZSNES has an option for snowflakes to fall down on the menus. Where is that in your previous SNES9x? Yeah that's what I thought buddy.

>> No.1230384

Well since it was the first SNES I'm guessing they just did their best with programing. On a normal playthrough you should see hardly any glitches/bugs. I can see OP glitch happening to someone having fun spinning around in the cap surrounded by those blocks but outside that I can't really see most people facing any problems. It's not poorly designed it's just has issues that you don't really notice until you actually open her up and see what makes her tick.

There's one spot where you can throw the beetle through the floor and it bounces around inside the walls. Forgot the exact position though, but used to do it all the time when I grew up.

So... would you say ZSNES is the emulator of choice for special snowflakes? (ba-dum-chhh)

Nice reversal attempt.

IIRC it's done by confusing the game into calling an end-of-level/game "object" of sorts, through programming errors, memory corruption, etc. I have no idea that's just what I've read.

One time my neighbor's kid ran outside and almost got hit by a car but ZSNES was there and pushed him out of the way at the last minute.
