There was a guy who posted this collage of images from when he was younger. His face is priceless when he is running down the hallway, and just the way the console is set up and he's playing it is awesome.

No this isn't me and I hope the guy who posted these sees it and posts some more photos.

It's weird looking at pictures of yourself playing video games because you don't LOOK like you're having fun, even though you're having a complete blast. It's just always some stoic kid hunched over in front of a T.V..

Looking back, I can see why my parents wanted me to do something else besides video games or be on the computer, because watching someone do those things by themselves just looks strange. To someone who doesn't play video games and knows how fun they are, it's a deary-looking scene.

Just like when you were watching TV but your parents never stopped you from watching TV because they also watch TV all day. That reminds me the typical argument I still have with my mother:
- Stop spending too much time on computer and video games. You'll ruin your eyes.
- And won't you ruin your eyes after watching too much TV?
- No, you won't. That's totally different.
That's bullshit!

people say we spend too much time on our phones and playing games and starting at screens in general. BUT instead of staring at a newspaper I can read the newspaper on my phone, instead of going to a computer to search for something I can use my phone to use the internet. Instead of watching sports on TV I can watch them on my phone. I'm not just texting for 5 hours a day I'm actually doing other things.

It does feel good to get out of the house and play sports but the same thing happened in every household when we were kids. "You can only play so many hours a day, your eyes will fall out blah blah blah" but we know this isn't true.

I still have an ST mug from the gift shop when my parents took me to Disney Land so many years ago. I didn't notice the "Do not microwave" warning on the bottom and burned my hand pretty bad on it.

>Talk about video games on the playground and get the occasional "that kid" who would make up shit about his dad that works for Nintendo or how he found some secret in a game that doesn't exist
>Come home from school in the afternoon and watch The Super Mario Brothers Super Show
>When I go to someone's house who I don't know well I'm always really interested to see what kind of games they have in their TV cabinet
>Mom would take me to video store every Friday to pick out a game to rent
>Video games were still fairly new to me and I wasn't anywhere close to being jaded with them so even when I picked crap like Athena for NES I still had fun with it

I still have fun playing vidya as an adult, sure, but like many things I suppose, there's a kind of magic when you're a kid and have been just introduced to it.

I was like 6 in the year 2000, my brother was always a dick to me and he would always hog the Playstation. So usually I'd have to go play the Sega Genesis in the kitchen and make myself pizza sandwiches (using pepperoni for meat) and strawberry nesquik. I'd remember my mom to tell me to do my homework before I started playing the Super Nintendo when I got home.

It sucks being 10 years back in my generation since I played with my older brothers hand me down games, toys (tmnt and ghostbusters) and tv shows. But it all boils down to games kinda being more of a business than something like toy. You know, they were meant to be fun and simple. Something that complimented your own imagination.
