If you're playing on the snes version (and with the 4 or so ports, you should have specified) then you don't need everything.

It's better to do everything at this juncture because you'll come upon a party split scenario and a full party is helpful and also there is quite a lot of story in this part of the game.

As for stats, stack Mblock and you'll be fine.

You are roughly 1/2 of the way through. There is a lot of side content in the WoR that you don't need to do, but the more shit you complete, the easier the last dungeon will be. The easiest place to grind is the mage tower, provided everyone has a reflect ring.

quite a bit is left. getting the rest of the characters. learning new spells from new espers and gaining more charactersgo where the frozen esper is in narshe and work your way from there. you dont have to use most characters but it help. you get cyans best sword near the end of the last dungeon. just level locke up with str and speed and give him offering/genji glove with valiant knife/atma weapon and you can kill any mobs in just one turn which you can use to help level up other characters.

I've only got part way through FF6 before school became too hectic and I stopped playing. This was like 15 years ago, fuck ;_;. you need 12 characters to do well in the last dungeon, most of them are easy to find

if you don't like exploring the world of ruin you're probably not having fun anyway

the best items and accessories require some effort to acquire, I remember the very best relic is the economizer but you have to grind on dinosaurs which are brutal at low levels

doing lockes retarded subquest makes the last boss super easy, but it takes a while to teach people life3

Make sure you have the guys at the top since they can equip better weapons. Characters at the bottom are good if you know what you're doing, especially gau and umaro, but they don't fit neatly into a good strategy
