For me, is one of the best PSX games ever. It has a unique battle systems with the combos that, go for it.

It's a terrible game with an awesome story that doesn't get interesting until 30 hours in.

my favorite game.

great sound track, great story, budget cuts make the story pretty prominent in the 2nd disc. there's a period of exposition-dungeon-exposition-dungeon

Fuckin brillant game, expect GREAT things, the ending is a little rushed, like the budget got cut, but one of the best rpgs on h PSX, after you beat the game, be sure to visit the lighthouse.

It is a good quality game. I thought it was kinda wacky though. Crazy mix of robots, mechas, ninjas and all sorts of shit.

If xenogears is a bad story then whats is a good story?

Expect lots of samey formulaic boss battles (im 18 hours into it and they're nearly all mech fights)

Expect a very small soundtrack; what's there is good but when you raise and lower the tempo of the boss theme to make 2 other tracks for cutscenes, you cant help but be very dissapointed.

im sure the game will grow on me in time though, will keep playan as people do seem to have frothy convulsions over it.

Depends on the game. Typically the JP voice acting is good but nothing special. It's very serious. Old dubs however can be hilarious.

Im doing a chrono trigger run right now.
Should I ally with Magus or kill him when given the chance? Frog turns back to human in the ending where you still have the Epoch if Magus is dead. Also although magus is pretty cool, his team potential is pretty low, no dual techs and no tripletechs with Chrono.

Triple techs arent really good or worth it compared to the damage a dual tech gives you.

Plus with magey-poo, you get a character who can cast 4 different elements of spell. He's like a superior chrono.

No, and yes you could, you just have to try the battle a couple of times until it doesn't occur. It shouldn't take more than 4 tries.

I didn't mind the second disc. For one thing, it's not like they cut the fucking story short. That game is long as fuck. It can drag on too much if you don't have the power levels for it. Now if they would do a remake or expansion out of the 2nd disc, that would be really fun.
