I was a huge fan of the Yukon Trail endgame. Staking your claim, not knowing what you're going to dig up is really exciting.

Also I haven't really played the Oregon Trail much outside of the Apple II version, are there others worth taking a look at?

Carmen Sandiego or bust.

I remember the modern version of this game from like 2001 i think? We played it on the Mac's we had and you chose the destination and if you wanted to sleep in your truck or not and you could get a ticket if you were caught sleeping on the side of the road in your truck

Plays just like a real Rayman game with platforming and enemies, but there's also math and English problems that make you pick one of several paths. Going into the wrong one would spawn instant-death spikes all around you. Good times.

I remember one where you were locked in a museum overnight and had to solve some mystery. One part comprised of the Wright brothers exhibit and you had to pick the parts to build a plane. Anyone know what I'm talking about?

On that topic, I remember a piece of software I played with in the mid '90s. It was either an encyclopedia or maybe it just focused on anatomy, but I remember playing around with a 3D skeleton and looking at different organs.

Can't remember the name for the life of me. I feel like it was made by DK like >>1173613, though.

I got Eagle Eye Mysteries in London with a EA top-10 game pack for the Apple Mac when I was a kid. It was pretty rad, you go around collecting evidence and anecdotes from suspects then deducing who the culprit was from facts given. It was also full talky and quite long, with 40 or so themed cases to solve. Still my favorite edutainment game of all time.

I don't know if I'd call it an educational game, but in high school we spent a month learning about Edgar Allan Poe and our teacher bought a bunch of copies of this game and made us play through it. It was pretty great in that you got to play through some of Poe's most well-known stories (as both victim and murderer) but the puppet characters always freaked me the hell out.
