You have one system and one system only for the rest of your life but you have every single thing ever released for it and it will never fail.

What system is it?

If you are gonna make me choose just one PAC, it would be the Mega Drive one.

My god, the Pioneer Laseractive is the pinnacle of late 80's-early 90's anime lovin' laserdisc buying weeaboo faggotry in the best possible sense. Like I wanna watch my Bubblegum Crisis episode five laserdisc, play some Snatcher on my Mega CD, then get my Mega Drive fix with either E-Swat or Strider, motherfucker.

this
Just emulate and you have it all.

Or assuming there is some no emulation rule, then you still get a ton of VC releases from a ton of other retro systems.

Plus having a full wii library ain't bad either. Maybe access to GC?

PC.

Emulation is most retro consoles.

or rather, gives you the ability to play most retro consoles.

Some Japanese 8bit or 16bit computer with all the accessory and vidya that ever existed for it. It would motivate me to finally learn moonspeak and became expert on rather obscure system.

GameCube

>plenty of arcade ports
>Sonic the Hedgehog emulated collections
>Zelda: Ocarina of Time Master Quest and the Zelda collector's disc
>Smash Bros. Melee
>Gauntlet: Dark Legacy (but it was admittedly a terrible port)
>Metroid Prime series, plus the original Metroid as an unlockable bonus
>FF Crystal Chronicles (yes, I actually liked this game enough to solo it)

If I technically have *everything* for it, then can I assume I also have the GameBoy Player and subsequently a library of GB/C and GBA games to go with it?

It's really tempting to say PS2 instead, but I'd miss my Nintendo series too much.

>> No.1171354

A PS3 with PS2 backwards compatibility. That way, I'd have jRPGs out the ass.

>> No.1171412

I would say the Wii. One with Gamecube backwards compatibility and all the retro emulators and ROMs downloaded in it.

Oh wait. Is that cheating?

riscPC
>can be modded to run almost as fast as a modern computer and more reliable than the x86 and x64 architecture based computers
>has emulation for almost any system and does it near perfectly, since the architecture of the processors are similar to a lot of game systems.
these things are hidden gems, I'm thinking of buying a fresh ARM processor and making my own, since the actual computers go for ridiculous prices these days

where the modules backwards compatible with the actual games for the systems it represented? I thought that they just got agreements with those companies to use their technology and just used the modules for certain laserdisc games

This looks like something from an early resident evil game. Like an MO disk machine you need to use to rewrite a key card or some junk.

Gamecube

Arcade ports, Mega Man Classic, Mega Man X, The Legend of Zelda and Sonic the Hedgehog collections. Awesome RPG's like Tales of Symphonia and Baten Kaitos (Origins). Metroid Prime (Echoes), Viewtiful Joe, Paper Mario, the list just goes on.

I'd seriously consider this thing right here.

You've got ports of many of the best SNES and NES games, and it's backwards compatible with original GB games.

So you're looking at all the early Mario Bros. games, the first three Zelda games (well, the original, II, and LttP, you know what I mean), even some Sonic on there, original Metroid, plenty of old Final Fantasies, not to mention the great games that came out for the GBA itself.

it was an unsuccesful attempt by Acorn Electronics to make a modern home computer that would rival the "IBM Compatible" computers from the 90s - 00s, the succeeded in making it better than common PCs at the time, but for some reason it just didn't catch on. It was somewhat popular in the higher education market though, which I assume is what kept it afloat for so long.

Probably Genesis.

If only the Saturn's cartridge slot was backwards compatible with Genesis games.

The Sega PAC has a Genesis cart slot and also allows you to play Sega CD games as well as Mega LD games. The TG16 PAC works in a simmilar fashion with Hu Cards and the CD games as well as LD games designed for that PAC.

It would be technically possible to create a lock-on cart for the Saturn that could then accept Megadrive carts. Literally the only obstacle would be whether the Saturn can provide enough power for such a cart.

OP here I've also been quite fascinated by Japanese computers lately. Mainly the MSX but FM Towns is another to really interest me. Are you the guy with the Ultima thread?

Gameboy Color. I assume that I can't have backwards compatability, if I can, that's awesome! I just can't pass up generation 2 pokemon and the existence of a bunch of nes rereleases with new content. Also, having a system that's portable and is small, and has small cartridges is convenient. Where are you going to store those massive libraries? Good luck finding your games Sony fans, they're going to make your coffin out of jewel cases.

The actual number should be above a million. There's easily more games for PCs than for all other platforms combined.
