Your thoughts about Tail Concerto? I first played it on early '00s and I couldn't stand the faulty controls and the camera, just like with Megaman Legends. Should I give a second chance on Tail Concerto?

It's also weird that Bandai published it only in France instead to the whole Europe (Atlus brought it in USA).

I liked the game, though it cost me way too much to get my hands on, I wanted to play it before I got started on Solatorobo.
While the game itself was nice, the camera was a bitch, the controls needed getting used to, but weren't specifically bad. What I did hate was how short it was, I beat it in less than 7 hours, 100%.
Though I guess Solatorobo made up for that being very lengthy.
As for why in france? No idea... But I do know that in Solatorobo they speak some language that resembles french

Cute, but short. Still worth a play.

Solatorobo was also short. And easy as hell. Still a great game and one of my favourite. Fortunately the controls and the camera were fine.

Following your advices I'll give a second chance to Tail Concerto.

They actually speak french in a cute, japanese accent. Ok, you won't hear long dialogues in french, just some random french words.

Short? Really? I recall sinking at least 40-50 hours into it getting 100%, that's of course both stories, Solatorobo, and the CODA arc.
And it's definitely true what you said, the game was WAY too friggin easy, massive amount of handholding too. Still, liked the story, setting and gameplay!

40-50 hours for the complete story and the bonus, downloadable chapters? Are you sure? I remember it being much shorter. I never bothered into completing it 100% with the extra missions since they were so repetitive and without variety.

At any case I prefer short games with complete stories (like Ghost Trick) than incredibly long games (with few exceptions like Dragon Quest) which get tiring after a while (see most jrpg).

Different anon, but DOWNLOADABLE CHAPTERS? THIS CHANGES EVERYTHING.

Gotta dig that out again. Have yet to set up my PS1/open my copy of TC though, saving it for a rainy day.

Downloadable only on the Japanese and European versions. If you have the American version, the side quests (Not full on chapters) are already pre-loaded into the game so there's no hassle.

Honestly, I never liked Tail Concerto all that much. I got it ages and ages ago at EB when PSX games were super cheap. It's just way too slow and dull for me. It's cute and little else; story never really goes anywhere and it's a pain to control most of the time. Solatorobo is literally the game I always wanted it to be and I'm really happy CC2 was finally able to make it. I just hope Strelka Stories doesn't, you know, take another decade like Solatorobo did.

Not /vr/ but any other news about Strelka Stories? Apart from the teaser site that was revealed at 2010 we haven't seen anything else.

I used to rewatch the cutscenes. Also collecting all the picture boxes was somehow entertaining. I recall satisfactory porn comics existing at the time.

Wow! I'm surprised.

Last they mentioned anything was in 2012, so at the very least it's definitely in the works

CC2's a very quiet developer and they're a lot like Treasure in that they more or less depend on licensed games so it'll probably be a while before we hear anything else. I kind of hope it'll be on consoles, though.

Ah... I played the living hell out of it as a kid. For the longest time, I couldn't remember the name of the game, up until just a couple months ago. I had never met anyone else who had even heard of it until now.

I emu'd it up and needless to say, I enjoyed it a lot more as a kid. It's not a bad game, it's just obviously for a younger audience.

The camera is pretty bad, and the controls could be a little smoother, that much is true. On the upside, the cut-scenes, reasonable graphics, and voice acting all made up for it, and that doesn't even count game play. The boss battles are fun and I especially enjoy beating the fuck out of furniture in people's houses. There are lots of areas and the 3D aspect is nice. The storyline, music, and playability are all about average, to me.

Overall, it's a pretty decent game, but if you're getting second thoughts, that must mean you want to play it again. Personally, I'd say there are better titles, but it still stays in my PS1 library.
