I have two 16 TB drives in my home theater PC loaded up with all the fullsets I could muster. I use pic related when I need a bit of extra presentation, i.e. I have guests over. I've spent a lot of time fine-tuning Big Box to get it looking exactly how I want. It plays videos for most games when they're highlighted and I have front and back box art for most, and manuals for some.

The light is only on for the picture, normally I just have a lava lamp on when gaming. There’s a PS Classic Mini hooked up to a small TV in the far corner too, currently switching it from Eris to Autobleem although I don’t know why I bother cos I can just use the USB controller with Duckstation, but whatever. PS2 has an HDMI adapter or runs through the CRT depending on the game, mainly that’s for lightguns though.

Decent modern setup. Looks like good audio. Screen leaves a lot to be desired. Everything is way too close to the fireplace. Electronics should not be that close to a heat source. A fireplace is like a vent or a doorway, it's bad form to block it off or crowd it even if you don't ever use it.

Very good start with a lot of potential. An attic or a basement are ideal places for the battle station. Poor choice of flooring for comfort and electronics. Hard flooring gives dust free reign while carpeting helps lock it down. Needs a really big heavy rug or even a giant mattress pad. The entertainment center itself would benefit greatly from a sound system, especially since you have the space for it. A sturdy TV riser can create some space to stow the receiver away (I did this to my setup) and I think a lifted screen is a little easier on the body in this day and age (we're always hunched over looking down at phones). Some big box speakers on stands would add a lot to the aesthetic (like in >>11379038) and the experience. The wall to the left of the TV, the one with the chair in front of it, looks like a fine place for a bit of storage (like a shallow end table), which would also help pop that seat position out a little bit for a better angle on the screen and cover that hideous wall repair.

It’s not set up for more than one person by design, not pictured is my shitty Ikea chair, there’s no sofa up here, this is for me to sit with my m+kb on my lap and my feet on… I dunno, is that an ottoman? I keep all my socks in it. Either way I don’t want my housemate getting too comfortable up here, the room is a bit weird because it’s the attic, so a sloping roof means I have to fit what I can, where I can. Those Wharfedales aren’t magnetically shielded but I have never experienced any distortion or interference next to any other component and those things are probably the oldest part of my setup, they have been used for all sorts of things connected to all sorts of amps and sources and never a bother near a screen at all.
There’s actually more room up here than it looks, but there’s a bed, clothes storage, another desk for painting minis and a whole bit behind what you can see full of crates of books, DVDs, games etc.

I got that tv in 2013. The plant I worked at was cleaning out their office and my friend on maintenance snagged it and brought it to my house, barely used. At the time we had a plywood skate run going from the back of my kitchen, across the yard to the road. We threw the tv under the big ramp and used it as an obstacle. Just beat the shit out of it lol. It sat out there for a couple days before I had the sense to bring it inside. It's the best crt I own and I use it almost daily.

So I got the original Nad C316bee, not the V2 everyone loves/has, from an estate sale and it is kind of heavy. Would it be okay to place it on top of the TV or do these things affect the longevity of the TV? It is kind of heavy for what it is.

As you can see, I don't have much room to place it anywhere else. The large metal toroidal object inside is where the bulk of the weight is at, which I assume is some magnet and that might distort the colors if placed nearby to the CRT. If it can't be placed on top, then I may have to stick with the cheap Logitech speakers placed far away.

However, my first issue is to figure out if I can isolate and shield this thing to the CRT.
