Post some clones! Multicarts, small batch (un)licensed variants and sweet retro shit like that. Post anything unless you know for sure it's a SOaC / emulator.

Let's see what we can find out from each other! Mexibros and Rusfags, I'm looking at you! Brazillians, Kings of Hong Kong show us that weird, weird shit! OC or not, anything we might not all be aware of!

Hyperkin please fuck off.

That looks amazing.

Also I have this one. It has a slot for NES games, another one for FC games, and a third one (internal) for FC too. It has like 14 years and still works

I want one of those, and one of those Aaronix consoles. How good is that console of yours? Can it play Castlevania 3 (NES version)? Can the Famicom side play the extra audio found in some FC games, such as the Japanese CV3?

Yes, the American CV3 has different hardware than the Japanese one. On most famiclones, CV3 won't even boot up because it's an MMC5 game. Meanwhile, the VRC6 is pretty much a standard board with extra audio.

I've tried Super Contra (the jp version) on it and it works with no problem. I still haven't tried with Akumajyo Densetsu but it should work on the top loader. No idea on the side loader. Maybe I'm mistaken, but I remember reading there was a difference on the pins between NES and FC slots.

>>1138895
As >>1138898 said, it's for the built-in cart (but you can replace it with any FC cart). When you insert a cartridge on that famiclone, the cartridge inserted overrrides the internal one. So, only way you can still play the one inside is having both slots free.

>I've tried Super Contra
Not good enough. That's a standard Japanese mapper that most Famiclones can read and understand. MMC5 is not, mostly because of how it warps how the NES operates.

While everyone loves them, there weren't a lot of games that made use of expanded audio.

And why the hell are all the interesting Famiclones located in remote, separated from the rest of the planet locations like Oshkosh-B'gosh or Absurdistan? I found one of those NES looking Famiclones, but it was located in Sweden and the shipping alone was $40.

Yeah but it'll take those Famiclone style nine pin controllers. You used to be able to buy 9-pin to 7-pin adapters back a couple months ago when NES/SNES to Wii Classic adapters were all over the place because the first few batches of those had the Famiclone style ports, probably because with so many hardwired Famicoms in Asia the clone controllers are easier to come by than 7-pins. Now the adapters seem to have disappeared though. I actually am probably going to buy one of those keyboard Famiclones locally tomorrow so if I do I'll post pics of it.

But never fear (I know you're on the edge of your seats). It turns out that my universal adapter only pushes about 350mA which is plenty for the Power-Joy famiclone I had been using but not enough for a King! I plugged in a more NES-like 10v 700mA adapter and the jail bars vanished, the King Game started up just fine and it even has totally decent sound. I'm hoping it's not a NOAC but there's no way to be sure without Akumouju Dracula 3 which I don't have.. Or maybe Mr Gimmick.

Also, to answer my own question - unfortunately neither the arrow keys nor wasd act as a controller and my Power Joy's second player Genesis style controller doesn't work. The controllers it came with are pretty mushy, cramped and have A and B in reversed locations. Genesis controllers also don't work on it and the Power Joy controller doesn't work on the Genesis so there are definitely more than one standard for famiclone controllers, which kind of sucks. I opened one up and it only has five wires.

It's Duck Tales btw.

Anyone remember that guy who got busted for selling Famiclones (or some similar pirated consoles) a few years ago, and part of his punishment was having to run full-page ads in gaming magazines detailing his crime and punishment? In addition, he got a huge fine, lost his entireinventory, served time and got deported, if I recall.

Do you happen to have a link to where I can get one? Preferably one of them chinese wholesale sites, or any other that delivers to Europe.
Found em on amazon, but fuck paying over €50 for it, that's at least a 100% markup.

Hah. reminded me I have one similar. I had to find it on the basement.

Sadly, the keyboard (at least in my case) is really bad, lots of keys works only if you smash your finger through the key. And it has a weird joystick port. Other than that, it's pretty nice, it has a parallel port for a printer (i think), and the cartridge has a program to program in famicom basic (where sadly, I still haven't managed to do a damn thing on it.)

Thanks anyway. I found a seller on aliexpress that -used- to have them listed, messaged him, and got a pretty quick reply that he still had a handful lying around, and I could buy 1 or 2 for $24/piece, so I'll probably get 2.
I love the GBC, but the lack of backlight was kinda annoying, and I don't find the SP as comfortable to hold, so I hope this is as good as I read it is.
