Are there any *good* "exclusives" (i.e. not available on the Genesis, not including ports on other consoles) or notably superior enhanced ports of existing Genesis titles for either of these systems? DOOM on the 32x is fun as hell, and Ecco CD's music is a pretty cool alternative to the original. Sonic CD seems okay too, if not a bit jank.

SEGA CD is unironically my favorite system. 32X also has fully playable and fully 3D Virtua Fighter 1 if you can't get the Saturn version to run, plus Virtua Racing Deluxe, Knuckles Chaotix, Shadow Squadron, Darxide, near arcade perfect After Burner and Space Harrier. Some people also really like Tempo and Kolibri.

Not shown is also strategy games like Dark Wizard and Shining Force CD, as well as JP exclusives like Ninjawarriors, Night Striker, and Shin Megami Tensei.

Sega had a bunch of potential. Surprised they quit

Do Sega CDs suffer from reliability issues?

Mega SD or Mega Everdrive Pro is a better option in general, allegedly you can also get the discs to boot on some modded original Xbox consoles. There's also the Genesis Mini which you can add SEGA CD and 32X games to and Genesis Mini 2 which has some SCD games built in, still emulation obviously but cheaper than an original unit

Not an exclusive. Also, the Turbografx16 version is better.

Not him but it's very minor. The Turbo version is a little harder and you can hear more of the sound effects, palette is maybe slightly different and the soundtrack is a little different (personally I prefer the SEGA CD version)

I feel like the game being on another very obscure platform shouldn't detract from it being on SEGA CD. It still rocks on both

Turbo version is much harder. I don't normally care about this but the Sega CD game is extremely easy even on the highest setting. Way too easy.
A nice thing about Sega CD is that you can use the mixer cable to crank up the CD music by lowering the Genesis SFX.

32x was based as hell if you got it on clearance like most people. There aren't a lot of games for it but almost all of them are great.

If you were to buy one, it's definitely worth disassembling and checking for faulty components like capacitors and re-lubricating the CD drive mechanism.

The model 2's are pretty reliable. It's the model 1's that are all going to need recapped.

It's just an exercise in patience, the worst thing you can do is brute-force it and tear out the pads.
