Yeah with these mods you always trade something, you can see how so much sharpness kills the original rounded edges you could get on an original screen.

As for the games, if we discount SNES ports or experiences that you can get elsewhere, then we get; the three Castlevanias that are amazing and worth playing, Harvest Moon Friends of Mineral Town, Minish Cap is very good but short, WarioWare if you don't have the GC version, some people will recommend you the Golden Sun games, Final Fantasy Tactics Advance, the three F Zeroes are worth checking out too, V-Rally 3 for the novelty, all the Mega Man Zero games and maybe the Sonic Advance games too.
There are a lot more things to check of course, there are quite the few shmups that are fun to play, like the Iridion 3D games and ports and portable versions of classics.

You know, I've never liked handhelds and the reason isn't that they often re-use old tech so it's cheaper. The reason is always that the thing is too damn small. I don't like staring down at a tiny screen. I have the same dislike for smartphone screens. Why not just use a laptop? It's better in almost every way.

Maybe if they made handhelds that were the size of iPads I could get into them. Think of it- a big ass screen and a giant lithium battery, you could play for days between charges.

Like others have said EZ Flash Omega works perfectly fine if you wait a bit before turning off the console. And the latest version fixes the save issue and supposedly even uses less battery, but I haven't gotten it since my old EZ Flash still works fine.
Will even run Pokemon romhacks that are way over rom size.

You realize you can take out guts from a cosmetically ruined GBA and fix it up with an aftermarket case?
Also the best screen and with lowest lag, is a SHARP manufactured original GBA SP screen, also known as "white tab". Accurate colors with just enough ghosting for games that use it, but bright and sharp, also better battery life than IPS replacements.

Double Dragon Advance

It pains me to see this game get ignored in every GBA thread. It has DMC level gameplay mechanics. I know that Astro Boy game has similar combat, but this game makes it much easier to pull off combos because of its partner attack system that lets you combo infinitely if you git gud at it. It's fun as fuck.

The only problem is that the game doesn't tell you shit about how to use special skills or how partner attacks work. You just have to play long enough to figure it all out by yourself.
