Never really liked fighters but I started DOA 1 a few days ago and something clicked. Just beat tournament mode with Lisa and now working on doing time attack in under 10 mins. I think I got it in a few more tries.
I also tried 2 but immediately didn’t like it as much as 1.

I do but only because the weird back story behind its failure, I consider it the best transformers game. There's not much of a story but essentially:
>Transformers hardcore fans in the mid 2000s were aging boomers
>bayformers didn't exist yet
>they HATED armada because it "animefied" transformers
>G1 Transformers was getting a PS2 exclusive in Japan only
>We got this game
>word spreads that the "Atari Transformers" is a piece of shit and people should just wait for the G1 game to come to the West
>The G1 game is an embarrassing joke but they like it because it has muh G1 designs and isn't based on the "bad" series by the icky Japanese animators
>Among transformers fans this game is largely forgotten because nobody gave it a try, bayformers brought in new fans who hailed the cybertron ps3/360 games as the best in the franchise, further pushing this one down the totem pole
>cybertron games are good but frankly this is better because it's not a standard 7th gen cover shooter with a transformers skin
I'm not a transformers fan, this is the perspective of someone outside looking in.

Ultima VII

This is actually running on an older version of Exult since running the original native DOS version on Windows 98SE is a nightmare of driver config and CPU speed fuckery that I've got no time for, but it seems to be a pretty faithful sourceport and plating with a system like this is comfy.

i ran Exult on a Pentium II "office" Dell PC with Windows 98 OG-edition, in the early 2000s. it was easy as fuck. much easier than running it on DOSBox . how can you have any issues with driver configs unless you tried to install Win98 on "modern" hardware made for WinXP and above?!? it's either that or your "retro" rig is full unlabelled frankenstein parts from commies, that a standard installation disc of Win 98 can't find any drivers for.

I mean just in general Origin DOS games throw a shitfit with even slightly newer hardware than what they were designed to play on. Crusader No Remorse is even worse in that regard I had to resort to using ScummVM for that it was either that or removing two sticks of RAM and hoping for the best.

trying out soul edge for ps1 using a comfy GameFAQs from 1997 to help learn combos. I played Voldo in later games but he seems to be much more basic and lacking a lot of his uniqueness in soul edge. i really enjoy the weapon system though, it’s fun.

I've finished Scooby-Doo and the Cyber Chase on PS1, now I'm moving onto Lilo & Stitch, I also did beat Donald Duck: Goin' Quackers/Quack Attack before, so I guess I'm on a Crash Bandicoot clone marathon... and it's been quite fun! It's a superb formula I wish had caught on a lot more actually.

I have very fond memories of playing that game in high school while my girlfriend was drawing next to me and workign on her art uni exam preparations, something like 15 years ago.

Anyway it's a pretty good game and if I had to describe it, its a jRPG for people who hate jRPG. Slick fun combat, no tedious loading swirly screens, good varied locale. If you skip playing it for a while its not a problem because the game welcomes you with a brief summary of where you are, what you are doing and what your curren task is on the initial loading screen.

It gets a bit repetitive here and there in a few dungeons that are too long for their own good but every single jRPG suffers from those weak points in its pacing. I had enough fun with it that i finished it.

Still rolling randomly with my tismo list, actually rolled "computers". Doesn't really work well with console generations so despite it being a gen 3 roll, I ended up with an Apple II (The e is gen 3).

Of course I bodied the 6502 at the study evasion box game.
