Stuck on Toxic Tower.
I hate the vertical climbing levels where if you fall, you fucking fall. Not to mention that if you fall here, you probably can't get back up because 1) you fall into the toxic stuff and 2) you already bounced off the Zingers so they aren't there your 2nd go around.
I know I'm close though and K. Rool isn't that bad from what I remember, so not sure what I'll end up playing next.

Same as always, Famiclone roulette. Also recommend playing the og 3DO version of Gex as you can save

Finally got around to beating this game, Valis IV. This is the last in the giant pack of PC Engine games that was posted years ago. It was near the bottom of the list and the last three Valis games weren't that good, so I stalled on beating it.

This one was better but the studio who kept making these never learned how to do level design. I went into this game after playing a bunch of Rondo of Blood, which was a mistake because it set my expectations way too high for the Anime Sword Girl game series.
It's a good game, otherwise. Great visuals, good story, fine music. Really the level and enemy design were the only bad parts. Also Hudson apparently worked on it, which is probably why it plays so much better than the others.

Yeah the saving would be nice but I'm making do with the password system. The only real downside is i cant farm 1ups.

I will NOT be doing hard mode tho, because Normal Mode in this game is already a fucking chore with how many enemies just remain invincible 90% of their on-screen life.

I really want to do a Game Box Plus/Famiclone roulette general thread at this point as they are common and unique enough to basically be their own system. Yeah there's /hhg/ but they spend most of their time talking about Anbernic/Miyoo/PowKiddy etc.

The version of Toxic Tower in Donkey Kong Land 2 filtered me as a kid. Still never beat it. It requires too much precise platforming that the tiny screen doesn't allow you to accurately do. It may be better if I hooked it up to a GB Player but that defeats the purpose of playing it on Gameboy.

These games always pissed me off because they're blatantly unfair, but at the same time I can't hate them.
Finishing Valis 2 had me feeling like this for a few days.

I'm going to play Tecmo's Deception for the first time. I hope it isn't too hard, I just want to chill.

Majora's Mask now has two PC ports. Barring that, play Jet Force Gemini and then switch to Beetle Adventure Racing when you get bored.

Scooby-Doo and the Cyber Chase (PS1)

It's a fun clone of Crash Bandicoot, one of the levels even looks just like Road to Nowhere... I quite like it though, it's simple, but fun to play.

Yeah it seems like that's what that person was doing, but it's weird and off-target in this particular case because OP was explicitly asking for the kind of information you provided and there's no evidence that you did any of the other stuff the image complains about.
