Is this a good collection? Please no just emulate insults. Yes we all know they can all easily be emulated.

It's not very good, emulation sucks and the interface is pretty goofy.

Well I guess its a pass for me then.

I don't know about the PS4 one but I have the Switch version and enjoy it. It's not the best collection, but it's decent. I also emulate though so that's no big deal. I also like the interface.

none of these collections are ever good

exception being the namco museum games because they're the only ones who received some care

The 360/PS3 one was pretty rad due to the inclusion of arcade Space Harrier

This collection is emulation so you're best just using a better emulator.

just get a metal slug collection

I prefer my comfy Switch for retro gaming but ps4 version should also be fine

The library itself is pretty alright but it's missing Ecco.
It's not worth getting the PS4 version though, Steam version has the most games (lacks Sonic due to Origins scam) and more importantly it gives you a folder with roms to use in other emulators.
It's probably the cheapest one too and lets you buy individual roms.

I have the PS3's "Sonic's Ultimate Genesis Collection" and I thought it was good in terms of games included and bonus games hidden throughout.

all these types of collections are emulations, anon, if you must get the most recent sega collection pc, they made an update adding a virtual room 3d interface which was very cool.

I emulated the switch version. It's okay.

It's mostly Sega and Treasure games, not a lot of 3rd party games.
It's up to you whether it appeals to you or not.
Also like anons said, these collection ARE emulated so if you have a PC, you're better off playing there.

if you can get it between 2 or 20 dollars is OK.

That is weird. I checked wikipedia and it says those games are missing as well as Sonic 3 & Knuckles. Steam has all games except the Sonic games due to Sega's fuckery of forcibly removing the games to sell people Origins. And then Gold shows a bunch of missing games. Its too bad these collections always have to be lacking somehow.

the SNK 40th anniversary one is pretty great.

This, if you're going to get one of these collections you should go for Sonic's Ultimate Genesis Collection for 360/PS3. They pressed a million of them and you can also unlock other arcade games like Congo Bongo.

It’s ok. I have it on switch. Think I bought it for $5. Worth it just for Phantasy Star and the Shining games

>> No.10906573

>no Monster World 4 or Sonic 3 & K

Hard pass.

It's good enough if you just want it for your physical collection or as a gift for somebody. If you have the money though the Genesis Mini and Mini 2 are a little cooler, plus you can play 32X, CD, Game Gear, and SMS games on the Genesis Mini 1 with little effort

More importantly, that collection was the last time Sonic 3 was commercially released with it's original music.
