I don't agree, but I agree that it's cool, and maybe a bit cooler than Crystalis. If nothing else, it escapes that annoying ambiguity of pronunciation.

It would be more valuable for the translation and/or the original story of the game to have been clearer. I'm still foggy on some aspects of it and I've played through this game a bunch of times.

I think a big part of what makes the story confusing is all the censorship to remove religious references. I recently found an English translation patch for the Japanese version and the story has some key differences, namely that there was no war in the past and it was really just science run amok that fucked up the planet. I'm looking forward to playing through the rest of it to see if the story overall makes more sense with the re-translation.

I'm not too far in but it seems much better. I believe the GBC version updated the script starting with the North American version and its manual, so it kind of exacerbated the story mistakes. The GBC version also tries too hard to make progression steps more clear to the point of making everything way too obvious, while the NES re-translation feels less cryptic just due to being better translated with fewer character limits without just directly telling the player what to do all the time.

This game has a really satisfying feeling of power progression. By the end you really do feel fucking powerful.
