My bf is trying to remember a GBA game he used to play as a kid, describes it as follows:
>GBA
>sidescrolling platformer
>player character had a gold staff that could hold different coloured crystals, granting different abilities
>player character was also "a long boi, not squat like Mario, Street Fighter-esque proportions?"
>something about collecting a dragon egg
>nice background with parallax scrolling
