Dragon Slayer II for the SNES. Here we actually have something that looks like a proper SNES game instead of the first one which was a roided out Famicom RPG.

For a moment I thought there were SNES remakes of the actual Dragon Slayer 1 and 2

>> No.10828308 [DELETED]

so Batista Harpu finally got around to playing this one on his "beat all SNES games" challenge. damn, took him forever. the next game he does might be Run Sabre.

I wanted to ask how this played but it doesn't seem to be translated and I doubt most of /vr/ can read moonrunes.

Isn't Xanadu called Dragon Slayer 2?

Why are SNES versions of multi platform games always so soulless?

Well lucky for you I played it a month or two ago (the PC-98 and Engine versions not the SNES version). The start is pretty rough but once the ball gets rolling it's a breddy gud game. The underground may drive you to insanity, especially in the Engine version where it felt the corridors were a pixel more narrow (it matters) and you can easily throw away your sole reusable map display item on accident.

I wonder what he's going to do with Hayazashi Nidan Morita Shogi 2 since that can't be emulated.

Uses a 21Mhz ARM coprocessor for game AI, but no emulator or Flash cart supports it.

The programmer formerly known as byuu had successfully emulated the ST018 co-processor way back in 2012. Stop getting emulator info from medieval scrolls.

and it's awesome too. love how nerds whine about the hammy dubbing, when it's actually really bad-good. granted, some lines are just bad, but then there are gems like this: mankind has always been the poison. and where else can you find a pair of lightsabers masquerading as candlesticks?

which early non-ys falcom games are translated and fun to play or brutally difficult? is revival xanadu good? is gagharv trilogy as good as sky and fully translated?

>> No.10831441

>>10828283
This version too is a very low quality port of a PC game. The PCE CD and Mega Drive ports are much better.

>>10830781
For translated, maybe try PC-98 Brandish 2. Romancia and Drasle Family are pretty brutal if you want to try these too.

Revival Xanadu is mostly in English save for the Opening narration text, just like the original.

Gagharv Trilogy was ported to the PSP by a different dev and translated by Bandai, but the ports are low quality and the translations are poor. Iwasaki's new art was nice though. Gagharv is good and a lot of stuff in Kiseki was lifted straight up from them. The Geofront group is currently working on the Windows version of White Witch and Dinosaur Resurrection, so look forward to them.

All three console ports were outsourced, it's just that Hudson and Sega took shit much more seriously than these lazy fucks from Epoch.
