The games themselves were not terrible but review scores went down particularly after they stopped making consoles. Sonic '06 also affected them pretty badly, even though it was literally only one game.

If you want to check out some of the best classic SEGA games, look at the Genesis (+CD and 32X), Saturn, and Dreamcast. Some people also really like Game Gear and SMS. They did have some really good titles after that point though, like the Super Monkey Ball games, Yakuza series, Puyo Puyo, etc. Some even say their other games are better than Sonic now

6th and 7th gen had a lot of great stuff. After Burner Climax, PSP2: Infinity, Valkyria Chronicles series, Outrun 2006, Virtua Fighter 5, Shinobi (PS2) series, Yakuza series, Puyo Puyo series, JSRF, PD:Orta, GunValkryie, 7thDragon, Sakura Wars V, Ghost Squad etc.

Not Sega's fault you're too much of lazy fuck to do simple research.

Aside from Sonic 06 I don't know what you're talking about as Sega remained esteemed through the 6th and 7th gen. Also, all of those review scores you posted in the OP are good.

6th gen they were still doing well. 7th gen was a shitshow for every japanese dev. Western games like Halo, CoD, Uncharted or Gears of War took the lead, japanese devs started trying to appeal heavily towards the west and even licensing out their IP's to western studios, there was a big anti-japanese sentiment going around like Japan no longer had anything to offer in gaming.

Even if we exclude the acclaimed 2K sports titles, that's a 72.24% average on the Xbox, with only one game (Shadow the Hedgehog at 49%) failing to get a passing grade. If there had been a perception that Sega games in the 6th gen were bad, it certainly wasn't on Xbox.

This gives a 66.96% average on the Wii. Indeed, it's a marked decline from Xbox, GBA and GameCube and doesn't have many "core" games that you'd see on the aforementioned systems. However, this also isn't /vr/, and 66% is still a passing grade.
