Why do VNs always have terrible writing?

>> No.10817172

>>10817161
They are fantasies written by people who don't interact with anyone outside their closest circle of friends or similar social outcasts.

This is probably my favorite game of all time. I am a sucker for time travel/parallel universe stories.

Yu-No is one of the few, arguably the only one, with good writing.

That anatomy/perspective really fucks with me.
The body position suggests taht her upper body is pointing slightly to the right. But the booba show that it points to the left. Looks so weird.

VNs all have terrible writing because you are an EOP. All localizations cater to those with below average intelligene who somehow can't learn Japanese.

RPG Maker Adventure games are their own genre separate from visual novels. If you spend most of the game moving your character around in second person top-down perspective to interact with the rest of the world, it's not a pure visual novel.

Are there any other games like this where the secret epilogue turns out to be the entire second half of the game?

>> No.10820495

>>10820467
Not /vr/ but Nier Automata has you unlock more plot by "finishing" the game multiple times. The first two playthroughs are very similar and tell mostly the same story from the perspectives of two different characters who travel together all the time, but the third playthrough is a proper second half of the game and also when the plot becomes properly interesting.

Not /vr/, but Rance X has a similarly long hidden epilogue that's unlocked after clearing certain conditions in the main game. And Dragon Knight IV has something kind of similar where you replay the entire game from a different perspective.

I highly coveted the games by Elf in the mid 90s.
