While I agree they could use buffs, Capcom sure disagreed and nerfed all 3 of them in Zero 2 Alpha/Alpha 2 Gold. However, Vega/M.Bison and Nash are my main+secondary characters in base Alpha 2 so there is enough. Nash is probably the best character to start with, as his CC is the easiest and what introduced me to using them more often ; he's my goto character to use if my opponent chooses to use Dan. As for Vega/M.Bison, I had tons of fun with him as my main, but being mid-tier is such a struggle against half the cast, and I constantly have to deal with endless Ken/Ryu/Gouki (top tier whores) players: https://youtu.be/1tvT1zThS90

I guess if you are a Ken/Ryu/Gouki player you're having the time of your life in Zero 2 Alpha/Alpha 2 Gold, since Capcom buffed the top tiers and nerfed everyone else. Ken players can enjoy mirror match heaven all day long on the game, but that's not for me even though I can dabble in the Ken usage, it just doesn't feel right for me.

Nothing detailed. I could find this brief overview.

I remember marble guy saying that Bison got his movement speed and jump reduced in that version. And that alpha counters cost 1.5 instead of 1 meter which is kind of a big change.
Maybe he'll answer that for you.

There is this:
https://slateman.net/faqs/sfz2afaq.txt

But it's very vague about a lot of things. Feels like the guy experimented for a few minutes with each character and then passed judgement. The game was never really given a chance.

I ran the section concerning Vega (Bison) through online OCR and then chatgpt 3.0 to translate (because you can specify it's a strategy guide for street fighter)

This is what it spat out

While there are minor weaknesses, the most notable changes are the floaty jump trajectory and the shortened invincibility time of LV1 Knee Press Nightmare.

Ken Jango Performance

The jump distance has significantly increased. In other words, the distance and airtime have been extended. It is not uncommon for jump attacks to overshoot the opponent.

Return Shimozo Counter

The attack detection comes out 60 frames later than when "ZERO" is activated (visually, the attack detection does not come out until the arm is fully extended). However, the attack detection remains unguardable and the performance has not deteriorated much.

In previous games, the attack detection had already come out when this pose was struck.

Ken Psycho Shot

Like other characters' projectile special moves, Vega's Psycho Shot also has reduced attack power. However, while other projectile attacks have had their attack power changed, this move remains unchanged (the projectile's priority remains low).

Down-charge after Head Press into Summer Salt Skull Diver

In previous games, the attack detection now only comes out after the arm is fully extended.

>> No.10751705

Compare Vega Warp

In "ZERO," when activating the original combo and using Head Press into Summer Salt Skull Diver, if you then perform this move on the ground, it becomes an unguardable crouch (if you crouch, the opponent falls over). However, in "ALPHA," it can be guarded normally.

In previous games, using Vega Warp during the original combo should have provided full invulnerability, but if the opponent was attacking, damage would still be taken.
(cont.)

In "ALPHA," there is complete invulnerability.

After performing the full Summer Salt Skull Diver, immediately after landing,

During the original combo, perform Head Press and step on the opponent, then follow with crouching strong KK. However, the opponent can still crouch guard.

Ken Psycho Crusher

After the attack detection disappears, land and then perform another attack, but in "ALPHA", the ground detection changes at this point. Even if visually it looks like you're floating, if you take a non-knockdown attack, you will stagger on the ground and become susceptible to ground throws.

Ken Knee Press Nightmare

The greater pain comes from the reduced invincibility time of LV 1, rather than the extended invincibility time of LV. It has become more difficult to pass through opponents' projectile attacks with invincibility time. At this point, the vulnerability is already present. It remains effective against opponents' sweeps.

Survival mode is exclusive to Saturn, and it doesn't have difficulty setting. It's a long survival streak with the difficulty progressively getting higher.

That is not true. Hold PPP and press start at title screen of the CPS2 version to enter survival mode.

>> No.10755417

>>10754878
It does have a difficulty setting.
The difficulty slider in the options menu affects the difficulty of survival mode.
If you set the difficulty higher the CPU will do more damage, take less, and be more aggressive.
>>10755301
This is only available in Zero 2 Alpha.

Additionally the arcade version of Zero 2 and Zero 2 Alpha are MUCH harder than the console ports, especially when set to their highest difficulty setting of "Expert" (which is the default setting of Zero 2 Alpha).

I would say the hardest setting of the console ports are equivalent to only the 2nd lowest setting of the arcade version ("normal").
Beating survival mode in the CPS2 Zero 2 Alpha with the difficulty set to expert is extremely hard to do. You'd probably have to resort to very cheap zoning tactics to get through due to the input reading. Even a level 1 super from the CPU will do 30-40% of your health at that setting.

I just downloaded the saturn version of Street Fighter Zero 2 and tried survival mode on default settings.
I beat it on the first try.
It's babby mode.
Level 8 might give a fair challenge.
But it's babby mode compared to the Zero 2 Alpha survival.
