I've been playing it recently. I forgot how terrible the AI was but it gets the job done if you choose a non-naval map and set 3-4 against you on hard difficulty.

I think you should be able to play it online with some effort if you can coordinate with others and you all install some LAN emulator tool.

One thing I still haven't figured out is what the audio music configuration to have the dynamic building and battle soundtracks, Jeremy Soule was a kid when he wrote those and they are all absolute bangers.

Fun thing I just noticed is that some names of maps are names or words backwards, "Evad" river confluence, etc. But Etorrep glacier is "Perrote" (Spanish for big dog).

I miss going over to my friends' place, as he had a few computers hooked up on LAN. Someone was always playing it and I can still hear the soundtrack or destruction noises all the time. The computer isn't the challenge, but the real fun is in LAN play as promised with its scope.
