What do you guys think of Ninja Gaiden?

>> No.1072663

It's an enjoyable game. It isn't as hard as people make it out to be and is actually pretty forgiving up until the last section and even there you don't have to refight bosses.

Pretty much this. Throughout the whole game it's pretty much "Yeah I can beat this, if I just give it enough tried". There are other games that are actually hard and I know no matter how many attempts I'll just never be able to complete certain parts.

I broke a copy of it when I was a kid.

I got so mad playing it on NES that I took the game out and stomped on it until it was in pieces.

The game 'Kung Fu' caused me to break my NES. That game got me so mad that I stomped on my NES and broke it.

It worked out in the end though, I got a top loading NES soon after. Never got the red blinking light of doom from that point on.

"I didn't take care of my shit, and it's broken."
"I got a shitty, cheaply-built redesign and it works great!"

Toploaderfags really need to be knocked down a peg or three.

>Toploaderfags

Is that a significant faction of people?

Top loaders > Side loaders.

Deal with it.

One of my most favorite games of all time, and definitely my favorite on the NES. I played the hell out of NG and still do from time to time. 10/10 music, great graphics, and tight smooth control. It really is the perfect game in my book. I haven't done a no death run, but I think I managed a no continue run. I wasn't really paying attention at the time, I was just playing like normal and realized at the end I don't remember continuing. Maybe once though, it was a couple years back the last time I got into a NG frenzy. Though thinking about it now I'm really tempted to hook up my NES and go at it again since I got two days to kill until GTA.

What I think of it is that the Turbografx 16 version is much better than the NES version (and it's a NESfag talking).

I also think it's a great action/platformer but with a couple of shitty/unfair design choices, like the last checkpoint before far away from the boss which changes the rule that the game had all the way through. Changing the game's rules is not a good design choice (I know it was due a glitch to begin with during development but they chose to keep it that way).

>> No.1075006

It was great. I loved the cut scenes. The levels were fun. The music was memorable. The graphics were nice. It's one of the best games on the NES to feature the word Ninja in the title.

>> No.1077190

Everything I want to say has already been said by others. My favorite game on the NES, love the cutscenes, love the controls. I still haven't beat it but I'm way better at games now than I was back when I first fell in love with the game. I really should bunker down and beat it.

>> No.1077373

Great challenging game up until 6-2. Then it's absolutely infuriating. I don't know how I ever beat it.

>> No.1078305

one of the best NES games
the game has a perfect sense of flow and draws you in.

>> No.1078328

I got pretty good at getting up to the 4th or 5th boss several months ago. Then I started learning LttP speedrunning, and kinda forgot about it.

Pretty good game, only "hard" because of weird enemy placement during some parts.

>only "hard" because of weird enemy placement during some parts.

Yeah, as a kid I would always get stuck trying to get passed those reaper things throwing knives in the Death Valley stage (2-2). I'd just stand there for minutes at a time looking for an opening. Now they pose absolutely no problem because I just run right at them full force and take them out. One of the main things in NG is if you hesitate you die. Most of the enemies, once you know where they'll spawn, are not a problem as long as you show no fear.

>> No.1078367

>>1078328
>only hard because of the enemy placment
so what you are saying is that a game about platforming and slashing is only hard because the platforming and slashing is difficult
